Nope, no more games for me until Christmas season

Same here. I'm super happy with the Atari Retro Revival bundle, so much to play. I might grab the Atari 50 DLC. Thinking about Yars Rising and/or Lunar Lander Beyond after holidays.

So Hardball! Hardball II, Summer Challenge, Winter Challenge,  Hoops Jam.

But no 4th & Inches, Mean 18 or Fight Night..  did Atari get these titles as part of the sale?

While I enjoy the fact that classic titles are being done to be played on modern systems, this will be a pass for me.  Still, hopefully we get more collections like this in the time to come.

I think most sports collections don't really have enough of a history or difference to make an attractive bundle.

Something like Madden from it's initial release through the PS2 might be able to scrounge up enough behind fhe scenes videos, interviews, etc. to make a viable product, but what sports games have a long enough legacy other than that?

A developer/sport centric bundle like all Camelot Software golf games, might also be an alternative. But that bundle would need to emulate so many different pieces of hardware.

If it wasn't developer centric, I would guess that licensing would be a nightmare (following all the football Releases from Red vs Blue through Tecmo Bowl, Mutant League Football, all the spin-offs and controversies (Madden curse, Sega 2K and licensing monopoly). The history of Golf / Football / Baseball / <sport> might make an interesting YT video, but i cannot see it being a viable product.

No 4th & Inches is a HUGE oversight!

I never heard of Hoops Jam,

Summer Challenge and Winter Challenge were published by Tynesoft/Thunder Mountain.   I guess Accolade must have acquired them along the way.   They were decent games comparable to the Epyx Summer/Winter Games, but I never really associated them with Accolade.

To me, "Accolade" and "Sports" means games like Hardball, 4th and Inches, Mean 18 and Fight Night

Edit: and "Test Drive"!  But we know Atari didn't get that one

There are very few sports games that have actually stood the test of time  and almost all of them are wrestling games. ( Smackdown Here Comes the Pain, SVR 2006/2007, Wii Sports Resort, Sega Superstars Tennis and Virtua Tennis are some of my favorites).

This collection sadly doesn't do it for me, in my opinion the Bubsy collection is much more hype than this.

NHL 94 should be near the top of that list that has stood the test of time. There is still a cult following for that one since it has been incorporated as an extra in some of the later EA NHL titles.

Honestly, I thought Atari might put their Accolade games in a DLC for Atari 50...with 7800 & XEGS versions of the sports titles and even include the Jag version of Bubsy cuz why not.

Looks like this will be a collection of DOS games and 16-bit console stuff.  They always get mixed reactions from Steam gamers in the reviews b/c they're too old for modern console gamers using Steam Decks.

Well sounds like Hardball XE will be in the next Atari 50 DLC, so at least there's that..

Thanks for bringing that up. For me there is no need to buy the Accolade collection as I'll already be getting the Atari 50 DLC. They should have put Test Drive on there too, but this collection is falls short of what it could have been.

Sadly the previous owners of Atari sold the Test Drive francise to Nacon who made it into an (ugh!) open world game...
