When I was a kid, I had a TI, and when my dad died and my mom moved, I got what was left of the collection. Ironically, most of all, the consoles and games that survived were the TI games. Unfortunately, the computer didn't survive, and I never bought a replacement. A listing came up on the FB marketplace for the laptop, a ton of carts, and the original books for learning basic for $90, and I jumped on it. I bought the video cable, so I didn't need the RF video, and I bought an original TI tape player (I still had the cable). I loaded up the Adventure, and once I remembered the device was CS1, the tape loaded. Wow. And, of course, I forgot all the games with Speech that weren't on the other consoles, like Star Trek. And that stupid Munchmobile game is such a pain.

The nice thing about most TI games is that they aren't at Atari-level pricing, and the games are better. I don't have Popeye anymore, so I had to get that (it has three levels, right?).. but I did have QBert. Now, these controllers are still the worst, but I'll get an Atari adapter soon. I am probably going to sell the educational games...all of which are CIB...along with a copy of TI Invaders. LOL

It's hard to believe I did basic programming on that cramped keyboard. I fat-finger every pirate adventure now.

Anyway, I I was just wanted to share memories.

Thanks for sharing your memories.  It's funny, the keyboard is small but when you get used to that, it's weird to use anything else.  I remember going from my TI99 to the Commodore 64 and I was forever hitting the wrong keys on the 64.

🍻 for the share! As mentioned by retrospect.. I don't mind the keyboard. They keys are full size, just not many to choose from, but that's alright with me. I only despised the fctn= when I would be programming and hit it 50 lines in typing at the speed of light and hear beeeeep and see the home screen winking at me. Then I'd realize that I didn't have it saved because i only had a cassette recorder and didn't want to wait... Forever... to save then check it.. breaking my train of thought.. fctn= might just be what really took the Ti out! Lol

I taught myself typing on the TI using the Touch Typing Tutor cart. Best time investment I ever made as I am a pretty good typist now. The TI keyboard remains my favorite 👍

I enjoy the TI keyboard in small doses, but I can't imagine going back to it for serious coding.  I definitely FCTN ='d myself more than once back in the early years, and wore out a couple "work tapes" to the point where they wouldn't consistently load anymore.  With the TIPI I'm almost tempted to try a project on the real iron again, knowing I can reliably save and distribute it from that point, but bulk code editing in Notepad may have spoiled me forever in that department.
