Albert
I don't know the answer to your question, but there are more examples on this page: Super Asteroids & Missile Command Screenshots You can see they are obviously using that symbol to denote money you can purchase items with in the "store". Odd that they would use the Euro symbol, though. ..Al
+Mitch
I think someone high up in Europe must have played this game and said "Hey, that would a cool symbol for our new money." Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
Ze_ro
Well, whatever the case may be, I think we can come to three conclusions regarding the matter: 1) You're protecting a European city (I always assumed this game took place in the future), or this game takes place far enough into the future that the whole world (or whatever world you're on) has adopted the Euro. 2) Euro's in the future are either worth an awful lot, or artillery becomes surprisingly cheap. (Check the screenshots Albert pointed to) 3) Atari's programmers can apparently see into the future... but only selectively, otherwise they probably would have done something about the whole "going out of business" thing. --Zero
Ze_ro
Anyone else notice that Atari seems to use the Euro symbol in Super Asteroids & Missile Command? Here's a screenshot (sorry it's so small): Remember that this game was programmed back in 1994... was the Euro even being considered that long ago? --Zero
