Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to run a VBXE-dependent program (OLD_VBXE_REMIX.XEX) in Altirra using a batch file, but I’m having trouble enabling VBXE via the command line. Here’s the code I’m using:

@ECHO ON
"Altirra.exe" /tempprofile /hardware:800xl /memsize:128K /vbxe /pal /run "C:\Users\john\Downloads\VBXE\OLD_VBXE_REMIX.XEX"

When I run this, Altirra launches, but it doesn’t seem to enable VBXE, and I get an "unknown command line switch" error for /vbxe.

What I’ve tried:

  1. I manually enabled VBXE in the GUI through System > Configure System > Devices > Add > Internal Devices > VideoBoard (VBXE), and it works fine when set up this way.
  2. I’ve tried different variations of the command line (e.g., /vbxe, /vbxe enable, and /vbxe:on) but haven’t had any luck.
  3. The only version information I could find was in the changelog, and it says I am running version 4.21.

Questions:

  1. Is it possible to enable VBXE from the command line in Altirra, and if so, what is the correct syntax?
  2. If not, does that mean I’ll need to create an .ini file with these options instead?

I’m new to using VBXE emulation and appreciate any advice or suggestions you can provide.

Thanks in advance for your help!
