8bit4life
NEWYORK-TOKYO returns this November with a brand new monthly event guaranteed to revolutionize NYC nightlife - Gamers Nite Groove (GNG). By combining elements of an arcade, and a technology expo with that of a swank lounge, GNG seeks to provide every level of entertainment all under one roof. From playable versions of pre- release games on the main floor, to new technology test demos in the downstairs lounge, GNG is an event dedicated to announcing the latest, and greatest in technological culture. Fully aware of the widespread influence of videogaming, GNG has also teamed up with pioneers in the electronic music, and visual arts worlds to immerse gamer, and techie alike in a virtual domain. GNG is an attack on the senses- albeit a pleasant one. No other event will deliver this one-of-a–kind multi-media, multi-sensory experience month after month. The first event in the GNG series makes its debut November 20 th from 8pm to 1am at Game Time Nation and will continue every 3 rd Thursday of each month. Level One (Game Floor) of the event venue is as close to your home TV room as it gets, and then some. With 20 large flat-screen TVs, plush seating, 16 Xbox's, 4 PS2's, and a giant projection TV every pixel, polygon, and mission completed will be represented in its maximum form. All Xbox consoles are networked, and online ready for Xbox Live gaming. Each month, GNG will showcase a newly released, or yet-to-be released title from the current month's sponsor. For the month of November, Namco will be providing gamers the privelage to test out pre-release titles such as I-Ninja and Spawn. Currently released titles will also be available for play including Namco's #1 hit, Soul Calibur 2, Time Crisis 3, and kill.Switch. Expected future GNG showcases include: Activision, Ubisoft, Sega, Bandai, Konami, Atari, Rockstar Games, and others. Level Two (Groove Floor) True to its name, this floor of the event ups the ante, and transports guests into a cyber wonderland. GNG's Level Two is home to our Future 4 Arena: 1,500 sq feet of music, tech & toy demos, art & preview videos, and of course, refreshments. The F4 Arena includes: • Always looking to the future, GNG has enlisted the musical talents of, Bitshifter (a pioneer of the 8bit / game-console music world) and Prozac (power-up NYC techno DJ) to set the evening's soundtrack. Future F4's will host only the most progressive talents in today's underground music scene. • With something for your hands, and something for your ears, how could we not provide something for your eyes? Tokyo Vibe, a game demo reel displaying the newest game titles currently exclusive to the land of the rising sun (Japan), will be projected on screens surrounding the F4 Arena. In addition, a second reel - NY Vibe will delight onlookers with videogame art created by industry concept artists, as well as a classic film from the past, TRON. • Warpzone Video Games will be hosting a special presentation for GNG's debut event: “Bit by Bit”, a one-time only timeline detailing videogaming from its inception to its very promising future. Also, in the exhibitors' area, gamers will have the opportunity for hands-on product testing with new handheld multi-player consoles , DJ tech-toys SpinHeads and others. • In order to keep up the pace, we've got some fuel to boost your hitpoints - RedBull.
