Gregory DG
Wow! Another "Make my cover" contest! Anyway, this one is for The Atari Times 2004 Compendium. I will have my hands full this month getting the book put together, besides I think there are better artists out there than me. Prizes: One FREE copy of the book! Not enough? Hmm... How about 3 free games from the TAT Store? Also, runner up #1 and #2 will be able to buy a copy of the 2004 Compendium for the Pre-Order price, even if it's past the deadline. Rules: 1. You must use the supplied template to create the cover. This template has The Atari Times logo and the names of the consoles covered on it. You can get this template in PaintShop and .jpg formats at: http://www.ataritimes.com/files/2004_cover.zip 2. Keep 1/2 inch of white space around the entire cover. (This may change if I find out the copy store can create boarderless pages.) 3. You can use graphics from The Atari Times website. (If you need a clean image, let me know.) You can get to the images by going to the main system pages and scrolling down to where it reads, "Images." Click the link and you'll get a directory listing. 4. Not really a rule, but because the Lynx was the most written for system this past year, I will be happiest to get covers that are Lynx related. 5. Deadline for entries is January 24, 2004. This will give me just enough time to get everything together for the January 31, 2004 release date! Good luck everyone! I hope to see lots of entries! Gregory DG
Just remembered one more rule: 6. The cover must have the title "2004 Compendium" on it. (Duh, don't know how I could have forgotten that one!)
Gregory DG
So, does anyone have any interest in helping me out with the cover?
liquid_sky
i have a concept for an idea, but i cant draw at all.
Gregory DG
i have a concept for an idea, but i cant draw at all. You don't have to be able to draw. Just layer a bunch of pictures together! (That's probably what I'll do if there are no entries...)
Brad2600
Should the cover also have pictures of all the systems listed about the Atari Times logo? I would not mind giving it a shot if I could get some idea of what to do.

I would not mind giving it a shot if I could get some idea of what to do. It can be whatever you want, just so long as you use the supplied template graphic from the first post. Oh, and you also have to follow rule #6 from post 2.
Gateway
"An error has occured while trying to read the file..." What file extension does the "raster" file with the template have for it? I'm using Paint Shop Pro 5, but it's not working. The "Atari Times" logo file works just fine.

The other one is a standard .jpg with the same dimentions at the .psp file. You can use the .jpg without worry.
Gregory DG
Ok, here's an example cover I made tonight. (Which, I might be forced to use if there are no entries!) Edit: Added a few things to the example cover...
Brad2600
I could never do a cover as good as that but I wouldn't mind checking out the Atari Times when it's done.

liquid_sky
i know i cant draw, so here is my concept if anyone wants to try roadblasters car driving toward the reader, shooting the numbers 2004 in speed blur with perspective.

Gregory DG
Check your mail And now I'm starting my 2nd one. Where's that second one? Also, you might want to go back and fix a few things on the first one. (Such deal-killers as spelling and small text! Make "2004 Compendium" as large as possible.) Also, I can't use images from another website... You can use images from my site by going to: http://www.ataritimes.com/classics/images http://www.ataritimes.com/lynx/images/ http://www.ataritimes.com/jaguar/images/ http://www.ataritimes.com/computers/images/ http://www.ataritimes.com/arcade/images/ If you need higher quality images (or ones without the www.ataritimes.com on them) email me and I will send them to you. I've posted my latest cover design on the 2004 Compendium page. Can you identify all the Lynx titles featured?

Edit: I hope it's ok that the images I used for the cover were scanned from my Lynx I instruction booklet.

rct4pc
My 3rd entry. I might get 1 more tomorrow if I have time. Tomrrows one will have a colored background. P.S those dots all over the one below are just as a resault of my making it much smaller. The actuall entry will not have those
