shining slade
Trade N Games was right next to Packrat video games booth. I scored a bunch of manuals I needed from both of them
joeybastard
Hey, I am glad you liked it! It's a shame I couldn't be there. It would have been really great if I would have talked to CV fans and gathered some feedback... By the way, did someone participate in the Ping-Pong tournament? I mean, I am not sure if/when it happened.... I am stuck here, completely in the dark... I can't say, I had to leave early. I saw Ping Pong on screen and tried to play it but honestly I couldn't figure out how to serve so I gave up. It looked really cool though

I saw Ping Pong on screen and tried to play it but honestly I couldn't figure out how to serve so I gave up. It looked really cool though Albert just told it didn't happen after all (too damn crazy at the show for him to run tournaments). To serve, you just need to push forward (the ball will go up) then hit the ball pushing left or right (drive and cut respectively). Next time I promise there will be a card explaining the controls... Paul Slocum
Yes, he sure did. It was on display today at PC5. He even had it on the big screen TV at the front of the booth. MMF says it drove him really insane to see it on the display TV (it was exactly like ours) instead of his own TV. Albert just told me he had the older version of the demo running (from the Austin Gaming Expo). I'll post the new one soon. -paul

I didn't try it but I assume it was upright pinball.

Cybergoth
Hi there! Just wondering if any of you had the chance to check out "Kill the Attacking Aliens" for the Odyssey 2? I own this killer game for more than a week now and I've been playing it every day since then! Greetings, Manuel

I didn't try it but I assume it was upright pinball. That's not the one I was talking about... And ICE COLD BEER isn't really much like pinball at all... The idea is to balance & lift the ball on a rod & try to drop the balls into holes that have various point values. The arcade was great but so crowded it was hard to get on a machine. I never did get a chance to play Quantum or the Empire Strikes Back. Oh well, some Gorf, some Food Fight, some Tempest and Defender will have to do. Even Bubbles had people waiting to play it Man, did I forget how complicated the button layout on Defender was
MegaManFan
Man, did I forget how complicated the button layout on Defender was After my finishing score of 3000 on my one attempt, I commented (to myself and anyone nearby) "Nice to see I still suck at Defender as much as always!" Man, I can't get enough of Major Havoc. I want one of those in my basement, in the WORST WAY. I play it every year and always regret not getting five minutes more! BTW my apologies for the erroneous info on the Homestar demo - I didn't realize Al had just popped in the old demo cart. Still made me jealous to see it running on my TV anyway; or at least, one just LIKE mine.
SS
Once again, the best part of PhillyClassic was not the stuff but just getting the chance to hang in the same room with a bunch of y’all again! Dinner on Saturday & Sunday and lunch on Monday were great fun. I’m already counting the days till PC6! PS - Osmeroid and I will both be hooked up to iron lungs for the next week and a half due to the amount of cigarettes that we managed to suck down over the weekend. Yeah, I know what you mean -- the crowds were oppressive BTW, that wasn't an EMPIRE STRIKES BACK machine -- it was really a STAR WARS -- altho it had an EMPIRE marquee on the machine. -PongHit

thebrightboy
An electronic hello to those of you I met at PC5. Fully indoctrinated, I got an AtariAge account and downloaded the Stella Programmer's Guide the moment I got home. :-) It was great to meet you all and I had a fantastic time. MrsMegaManFan
Well, another PhillyClassic has come and gone. MMF and I just got home about an hour ago - and we are still trying to recover. My ears still hurt from the flight! MMF, however, is downstairs in the rec room sorting through all of his new purchases. He was so happy to get some new stuff that we had stop at Best Buy on the way home and buy another tv for the rec room! I'll let him talk about the details. I have no doubt that he'll be making a flurry of posts later. This will be a short post from me - I'm really tired, need to eat dinner, and need to get some sleep. I also have a big furry cat screaming it's head off because I was gone for 6 days!
MegaManFan
Well, it seemed a right shame to let Cassidy's nice Turbo Booster go to waste on such a small 13" TV (which my TG-16 is currently attached to) and I didn't want to hook it up to the large screen and get pixellated way out of proportion, so I bought a nice cheap Sharp TV (25") that falls in between the two. I'd been meaning to do it for a while now because I brought a bookshelf into the basement just after Christmas to put one on and hook up a few more systems to - now I finally can. Two AV's in back, one in front, not to mention an RF/cable ready input and/or another five input switchbox.

I own this killer game for more than a week now and I've been playing it every day since then! Greetings, Manuel We sold out of KTAA at the show, so hopefully someone else will post their reviews. It really is a great game. We also made plans at the show with an new O2 programmer to begin producing his O2 homebrew called Planet Lander. More details to follow... MegaManFan
BTW for those who didn't try Battletank TC at the Packrat VG booth, I recommend it. It's 2600 Battletank made more like the actual arcade version by implementing dual sticks. A very impressive hack that I admit to picking up after playing it - as Big Player said it makes BT a whole new game.
Curt Vendel
I saw Battlezone TC being played and it was definitely a very cool hack and it made the gameplay look all that more fun, I meant to go back and pick up a copy, too much to do that weekend :-) Curt

I know what machine he is talking about and it was in the back next to Moon Patrol across from Major Havoc. I forget the name but it was an upright pinball machine that had two joysticks for the flippers and two lane change buttons. I played it for a while and it is great fun. Especially when you get the ball up into the smaller section. Also it was one of the machines that would run out of credits and you woulkd have to wait for the guy to come around an put more on it. Funny thing is I seen people actually putting quarters in the machines And I heard that Tempest made 4.00 on his new cabinet from people putting quarters in it.
