xmetalhedx
You guys should check out System of a Down doing the Zelda theme, and I believe that Mr. Bungle did the Mario theme but I haven't heard that one.

D.Yancey
I have the 45 version of Space Invaders by Uncle Vic. I played it so much that I even remember the song on the flip side. It was called Ode to Slim. I never got Do the Donkey Kong, but I did have Pac Man Fever.
gulag picture radio
Somewhere I have a Buckner & Garcia knockoff album. Someone tried to do the same kind of thing... create hit songs with videogames as their backbone. If you think that the concept runs a bit dry on the B&G album, it's a bone by the time it reached this record! I don't have in front of me, so I can't recall the title. I've also got a Pac-Man Christmas story record. The character designs are close to the look of the Pac family in the Saturday morning cartoon, so I've got to think that this LP had to come out around then. I can't believe that I'm admitting this, but I occsionally have been caught whistling or singing the little song that advertised Pac-Man breakfast cereal. It was a Lucky Charms type cereal, and I loved it (along with Cracker Jack cereal... which I still miss bitterly...). The song was one of the last that I remember that tried to half-heartedly institute a "dance craze". They showed kids doing the "Pac-Man" in appropriately 80's clothes (it was the 80's after all...). Hmm. I should poke around to find that ad and learn how to play the song on keyboard or something...
