Ive been a retro collector for a few years now (should have started earlier!) my almost complete collection can be seen at my website - WWW.RETROBRAD.COM just click on 'My Collection' ive got alot of double up / triple ups of games and consoles, especially the really common titles like super mario bros 1 (36 copies) the ninja approx 40 copies, super tennis approx 25 copies, and as far as systems go ive got on average 10 - 15 of each system i.e snes, nes, megadrive, master system, gameboy, lynx, game gear etc...

i'm good mates with ***Astroboy*** and used to go to garage sales with him when i lived up in newcastle, hes always got loads of retro games for sale on ebay so check his auctions out.

all up my cartridge collection (for all systems) is well over 1,000 carts. i have approx 3,000 - 4,000 amiga disks and boxes full of controllers! one of my best recent finds was a boxed Vermin game and watch which i got for $2 from an op-shop. on ebay these sell from around $200 - $400.

If anyone is interested in swapping, you can check out my collection and then contact me, im also right into retro modding too.

and lastly, my mates and i are looking at having an annual retro games convention in either melbourne or canberra. we just need to see if anyone would actually be interested in going??????

i just got a 7800 cheap off ebay but didnt come with any cables. can any fellow australians help me out for a 7800 power supply and video cable? Ill pay ofcourse

The power supply is actually 9 Volts DC (1 Amp), although I think a 500 mA supply would work.

This link has a mod to add a standard DC plug - might be easier than paying for o/s freight just for the sake of an annoying plug: http://www.geocities.com/atari7800mod/7800_powermod.html

If you need any help doing the mod, drop me a line. also if you have a power supply at home that you dont use that is a higher rating than 9v you can make a simple little circuit that can fit inside the 7800 that steps the voltage down to 9v. i.e you would be able to use an old printer power supply that might be 24volts etc...

again if you need help, drop me a line.

Nah it's cool retrobrad I ordered an American one a while ago, it just arrived a couple days ago actually.

Hey cool site! Are any of your 7800 games for sale or trade?

btw I like the retro games convention for aus idea. Would probably be better to hold it in Melbourne rather than Canberra though.

Time to brush the cobwebs out of this thread. Any active aussie collectors still around. Im in Queensland. Currently have a Jag, A2600jr, Atari 5200 (on the way fro US). Really would like to spring for a heavy sixer NTSC at some stage.

Checkout www.retrogamingaus.com if you get a chance, it's still in its infancy though!

The 5200 is a cool system not many of them down here, I would get the Best Electronics gold kit for them. :)

Hi there,

Any of you Australian collectors own a Video Vision cart?

http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_atari-2600-vcs-video-vision_publisher_2395_2_G.html

Also, I'm interested in scans of SpaceVision carts for the Atarimania database:

http://www.atarimania.com/pgelstsoft.awp?system=2&type=G&publisher=2138&step=200

Please let me know if you own any.

Thanks!

Just wondering - has anyone else out there used the Cash Convertors online auction site?

I finally got River Raid 2 after waiting almost 3 weeks. It was a BIN @ $9 + 6 postage from a Perth store.

Despite being marked as having being dispatched about 4 days after I bought it, it still hadn't arrived here a week later.

Ended up sending them an email through the site's inquiry facility and was told they had another in store and were going to send it registered mail.

A few days later, it finally arrived (normal mail parcel).

I tend to think the story of it being sent/lost and them having another copy is bullshit. Not exactly the most common game around, and I'm fairly sure it was only listed once on the auction site.

All turned out well I suppose, but they need to get their act into gear.

Yeah, forgot to mention.

Their valuation process is a joke. $39 for probably the second most common videogame going around, yet I managed to pick up RR2 (somewhat uncommon) for $15 delivered.

Yeah ;)

I guess it's a good thing for us atari nuts.... one day a super-rare thing will pop up and they'll want a fiver for it!

Anyone based in Sydney / Sydney Outer / Melbourne - that has a cart dumper?

I need to verify the authenticity of a valuable recent purchase - to determine wether I should return it for a refund (long story). I would appreciate 15 minutes of your time, to dump it - i'll buy you a pizza / give you a bunch of carts or something.

Please PM me - it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers
