I just read through all the guesses very carefully and my new choice would be for

I, Robot

Although I would be extremely ecstatic if it where either i, robot or quantum.

Youre probably right.

I Robot was another of my guesses.. but i had to pick only 1. However, that being said, if it is I Robot or Quantum, man I'd be one friggin HAPPY camper. :D

Before I make my guess, I want to clarify something. Albert said that this game "formed the basis of an arcade game of the same name." I'm not asking for additional clues, just answer me this: would you reword this statement at all, or is it completely accurate? My interpretation of this is that an arcade game was made based on whatever this mystery game is.

My suspect logic with ROTJ is that Atari may have made a deal with Parker: exchange the rights to release Atari's arcade "Star Wars" for the home in exchange for rights to release their own ROTJ game. If so, it would indeed be impressive to see on the 5200, and would probably have had a late-84/early 85 release date which is why it would have been held from release. That line from Albert about "forming the basis of the arcade game" is the big clue here. Not many candidates. I'd have guessed Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom but that was an 85 arcade release.

Cloak&Dagger would be the favorite, but only because it's existence has been rumored since the 80s. Some of the picks I don't get at all. Mad Planets? Quadrun?

I hope that it turns out to be Skeet Shoot 2: Electric Boogaloo

But the suggestion would be be that a home Mad Planets preceeded the arcade version. If so, we would have seen it released by Parker before the crash.

But it points out that just about everyone seems to be picking games by Atari, which wouldn't necessarly be the case.

Since the game won't be released for profit I'll take a wild guess:  Return of the Jedi

(I'd have a different guess but Tempest said that games released from 1985 onward should not be considered)

Hey, where did he say that? I would have picked a different game if I knew that. :( Oh well. :)

Albert said: The fast-paced action game, whose identity will be revealed at the show, demonstrates the power of the 5200 and formed the basis of an arcade game of the same name

So it was indeed a 5200 game first, then an arcade game? If so, there aren't many real contenders are there? If not then we've got some bad clues going around.
