PC5 gave away free cups when you entered the door, Packrat was giving away keychains (but only if you bought something), Game Crazy was also giving away hats, Playstation pens, AA was giving out free buttons (as was Ataricart), and how many opportunities were there to play games for free? No, I'm sorry - we spent so much time helping Al at the AA booth that by the time we got around to their table, they had already packed up and left. Yeah, where's the pics of Ed?! Isn't it cute how they all have their AGE shirts on Unfortunately, Ed had some other things going on and wasn't able to be around. However, we are looking forward to seeing him tomorrow for some sightseeing activities in the area.

MrsMegaManFan
Mrs MMF: Did you guys take the 01 Combat from the Combat Cannonball Run to PC5?? That's a funny story, actually....There was this vendor at the con called Yakmala. They were selling these really cool compacts and billfolds for girls that were made out of Atari cartridges. We thought Ed was gonna be at the show, so we took the 01 Combat cartridge with us so we could give it to him. As you can see from my previous post, he was not there. Yakmala came to the AA table to tell us about their stuff, and said they could give us a demonstration on how they are made. We said, "Hey dude, that's totally awesome! We'll have to check that out!" Later on, we looked for the cart, but it was nowhere to be found. We can only assume that the Yakmala people (those bastards) must have grabbed the 01 Combat cart - thinking it was one of Albert's for recycling. We're really sorry! MegaManFan
The one he took afterwards is even better. He's in it for one, and I gave Osmeroid bunny ears for another. Forgive me my friend! I have to give it up to Chris, his advice on which PAL games to buy was perfect, as was his taste in fine brew and in fine entertainment - plus he's just a great conversationalist period. Then again, so were all the fine people I saw at yet another con, whether I only had brief chats with them (Numan, JoeyBastard, Kirk Israel) or extended convos (z28in82, Xot, Dale Crum, many many MANY others). It never seems like enough though. There's always so much more to say, so much more I want to do, so much more time I want to spend with people who are so much fun to spend time with. Being behind the AA booth might seem like work to others, but to me it was pure exhiliration. We had a fine system of trading off - when someone needed a break to take photos, get food, or just go out and shop on the floor, someone else was there to cover. And wow, were people hungry for the goods when you were there! Climber 5's flew out the window. Joust Pong was a smash hit. Loads and loads of people met Howard Scott Warshaw personally and bought his DVD's and got their copies of Saboteur autographed. Dale went through tons of buttons and iron-ons, and I think Joe nearly ran out of books and StellaAdaptors - but the list goes on and on. I can't wait to get home and ENJOY all the fine products I bought - probably too many I admit, but after all the PhillyClassic is like Christmas - it only comes once a year. Special thanks to everyone involved at the AA booth, from the top on down, to the organizers and crew of PC5 for another great show, to my wife for tolerating my passion and my insanity with love and affection (LOTS of the latter too, she's just aces), to chickybaby and z28 for being far too nice to us yet again, to SS for the good times so far and hopefully for more to come tomorrow, and likewise to Ed Siegler, but most of all to anyone I didn't name specifically but spent any time with whether small or large amounts thereof personally, THANK YOU. It's not the games, the location, or the events that make PhillyClassic rock - IT'S DA PEOPLE. And people, other than the Austin Gaming Expo, it just doesn't get any better than this.
