AtariChild840
Ok, just wondering, what are some favorite 4 player (simultaneous) 2600 games. My friends and i can't get enough of WARLORDS, but some of the VIDEO OLYMPICS games are great too. I'm in the market for some carts that can rival these titles......Let me see some top-five lists! chairmonkey4406
as far as I know those are the only 4 player simultaneous.
RC Modeler
Mine has to be Warlords
doctorclu
Warlords is the main reason to keep a 2600 around. I mean current games are not as much fun! It's fast, it's vicious... oh wow!!
Voch
Steeplechase is 4-player, too. I've never played it with anyone else, though. It might be a fun party game (but I think Warlords is better...more explosions). Voch
Room 34
I can't think of any besides those 3 (and I didn't even think of Steeplechase until it was mentioned). Warlords ROCKS... it's unfortunate that it doesn't have more competition in the 4-player-simultaneous group, because it would still be the best. Saikyo
Ditto Warlords is THE BEST 4 PLAYER ACTION-ARCADE style game on the 2600!
Adrian M
Well, Warlords definitely has staying power over the other 2 games, so my vote goes to Warlords. A great conversion of the coin-op and it's just plain fun!
highinfidelity
There are Street Racer (cartridge) and Party Mix (supercharger) too.
Big Player
In Casino you can play 4 player Blackjack. However, it means you can't split pairs.
AtariChild840
Yeah, ive got streetracer and steeplechase. Neither of them are too great though (i'm not too fond of horse hurdling or whatever that is and street racer is like racing in slow motion). I was thinking about picking up a supercharger for the sole purpose of party mix, but i hear that stuff with the tapes is pretty annoying... AtariChild840
...so in conclusion, agreed, warlords owns the 4 player realm! Oh and what the fuck are those jagedly blob things inside the bases? are those flags? Castles? man, i love atari.
Big Player
Those blobs are. . .Warlords.
Adrian M
Those blobs are. . .Warlords. Actually, I think the blobs are actually "kings" that you (the warlord/shield) are supposed to protect. I remember that description from one of the old Atari games catalogs...the crude drawing even showed a feeble old king in a castle.
Big Player
From the manual: 2. BATTLE OBJECTIVE The object of the battle is to destroy the other three warlords before your warlord is destroyed. Use the Paddle Controller to protect your castle and your warlord. (Your warlord is located inside the castle, as shown in Figure 1.) Turn the knob on the controller to move your shield around your castle and block the ball*. See Section 4--USING THE CONTROLLERS for more details on controller use. I could have sworn that the Catalog had a different storyline though. Can anyone confirm?

Stingray
I always called it a King as well. I agree that this is one of the most fun Atari games ever, four player or otherwise. -S

Gregory DG
Is there a 4-player version of Pong in Video Olympics where a player guards either the top, bottom, left, or right parts of the playfield? That'd be neat...
