I don’t think I have the words to comprehend this.  Seriously?  The same items in same condition not sealed would likely sell for maybe a tenth of that price.  ?

The Zero feedback bidder has something to do with it.  If this actually went through someone got taken.

Never seen one of these before.

Probably rareish but still a lot just for 1 controller.  Or because these kind of things are some what rare it is a fair price?

That’s an early model Starplex controller.  You don’t see the early ones often.  Not sure if it’s reflection or not, but the label looks discolored.

edit: not reflection. Looks like the label is pretty bad.

Found this.

ebay

I know it's a lot and not going to buy.  The the square one with red stick and 2 buttons.  I don't recall that from back in the day.  Must be generic or third party.  Looks interesting.  I sent hime a message will see if he replies as to weather there is a part number or model number or name brand written on the bottom or sides somewhere.

The Euros got a lot of unique joysticks released, due to popularity of the various 8-bit computer lines (most of which used the Atari style connector).  You had companies like Konix and Cheetah releasing joysticks that we never saw here in the States.  In that auction, I noticed the red joystick handle looks awfully similar to the one Konix Speedking/Epyx 500XJ -- but maybe not as small.  Probably a microswitched variety, which I'm not too keen on for home consoles.

I picked up a few oddities over the years such as the Konix Navigator and Zipstick which aren't very common in the US.

I noticed the Genesis pads in that auction have Honey Bee silkscreened on them.  If I recall correctly, there were Honeybee branded cartridge convertors for Megadrive and SNES back then, so it must have been a more widespread brand.

I'm not certain, but this *could* be an El Paso or very early 7800 variant.

I'm basing my assessment due to the fact that the rainbow stripe color is the early one with the red, orange, yellow striping.  I think I'm also seeing a 1984 version of Pole Position II, so perhaps it's part of the set.

I've contacted the seller to see if I he can provide the serial #, but no response as of yet.

Holy crap are the EP units really worth $500?

I just noticed the seller upped his price, so I guess he did some research and is shooting for the ultra high end, lol.
I sent him a follow up message to confirm the serial #, but no update thus far.

I only paid $75 for my EP unit a few weeks ago, but that was just looking at the right place and right time.

EDIT:  So I just got a response.
Here's the serial:  AT8423354
So it's an early unit, but I'm not sure if it's an EP.  Probably not worth the asking price, unless this is some kind of sub variant that I'm not aware of.

James Bond 007 Atari Dactar 2600 briefcase

I love that there's 7 bids now, and it's still at the opening bid of $500.  That means it's all bids from the same bidder...  Maybe deciding to up their maximum 7 times?

He's selling an 'Apple Vision' Brazilian 2600 now too:

Don't think I've ever seen either one of these myself...
