StanJr
These two hacks do not like StellaX. Don't get hit.... and Defender Vector anybody know why? stellahaters.zip
Nukey Shay
Wrong size...4k bins must be exactly 4096 bytes, otherwise the console won't be able to locate the interrupt, start, and init vectors (the last 6 bytes of the binary).
StanJr
so will they play on OTHER emus?
Nukey Shay
If they do, it would be a shortcoming in the emulator Roms are expected to be a specific size (which you can insure by using ORG $fffa just before those vectors in the assembly)
StanJr
so basically, those ROMS are useless?
Nukey Shay
Nah...they were easily fixed: corrected.zip
Nukey Shay
Crap...the freeway hack works, but the Defender hack didn't (it did with Z26 tho). I poked at it a bit, and now I can get it to run, but the colors are messed up Who made this? Neo? He needs to correct his assembly so it compiles to the right size. BTW Neo, Dan Boris has a Defender disassembly file you can work with that has many things already labelled
Nukey Shay
Oops...it was Atarius. From this thread (which also contains a bad rom): http://atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40631
StanJr
wow, so now those two work again? Nukey you totally rock. The Don't Get Hit works great again, but the Defender Vector is incredibly dark and what I can see is a very dark red. Is that the way it is intended to be???? NE146
Why do you use Stella in the first place? Doesn't the sound suck?

vb_master
Don't get hit... works on PCAE, when I made the final version, I saied, "Why is the BIN over 4kb? It works fine with PCAE, so it should work with everything!" I was wrong I guess, and I was too tired to ask Nukey how to fix it.
+Atarius Maximus
HaHa... I did that Defender Vector hack in about 10 minutes several months ago, I have no idea what I did to compile it at the wrong size. Thanks for fixing it, Nukey. Hahaha! He got a bit carried away adding mountians! See above. I made some changes, recompiled, and posted...didn't give it much thought. You can never have too many mountains, though, right? Nukey Shay
Probably didn't have an ORG statement near the end...so Dasm could warn you that you are going over the 4k limit (Dasm can compile code for other machines as well...so it will just chug merrily along no matter how many extra bytes you had). There were 3 very tall mountians made (exactly 12 bytes)...I guess that you just forgot to erase them when adding new ones
Out_of_Gas
A Very Sweet hak indeed. Any plans on a cart?
StanJr
Why do you use Stella in the first place? Doesn't the sound suck? Screenshots, baby, screenshots. Otherwise I use z26 for all my emu needs!
