emkay
Referring to the "luminance only crippling" on the A8 you may not await multiple colored elements... ok ... it could be done... but if the game would look like the following screenshot, no one would have a reason to blame on the game-graphics. Would anyone invest their time in making the screenshot reality?
Heaven/TQA
done... next... include a scroller + music at the beginning and maybe a new font for the main screen... thrustt.zip
Heaven/TQA
btw... what kind of games could be patched as well? - war hawk (title screen is in the g2f archive but not coloured yet...) - ballblazer (havent found a c64 version with title screen, same with other lucas arts titles) - jet set willy - druid (done...) - ... which other games can/should be patched? best would be where file versions are available as we easily can add in front of the file the title screen... boot discs are harder to patch... Slow down Heaven. It doesn't make sense to patch all games with some graphics only... When using an Intro, it might be useful to finish the intro by including sound and some visual effects (scroller etc.), before patching a game. Sometimes it would be more useful to put the G2F into the game itself by exchanging the ingame graphics.
Heaven/TQA
emkay...but it will be hard to patch ingame gfx as you probably have to rewrite the whole engine... thrust "patching" for g8 is impossible without recode the main core engine... and this is not a "patch" where you just add & change small pieces... so as here are g2f maniacs like you & tezz this is easy for me to include in the game... that's why i have asked for a list of atari/c64/armstrad etc games where this is possible... reworking complete releases... not of my business... this is more bry's area... Tezz
Hi Heaven .. Nice work Heaven btw... what kind of games could be patched as well? How about Arkanoid, and Tebe has just included a recoloured Nuclear Nick. Emkay When using an Intro, it might be useful to finish the intro by including sound and some visual effects (scroller etc.)That would be good but if only new title graphics are created then it's well worth patching anyway. emkay Sometimes it would be more useful to put the G2F into the game itself by exchanging the ingame graphics. A total in-game revamp would certainly be great to see but it's a lot more work involved. Just adding a nice loading screen and music conversion and also replacing the simple text based title screens would bring these titles to life. Nice work Heaven, really good to see these games patched. I will post an RMT track soon..
Dracon
Here's a revamped C64 Thrust Title screen.. I really had to get rid of the nasty dithering !! Yeah, that was superb work!! I only wish it was done much more earlier.... :-|
