Flack
The funniest thing just happened... I just got a call from some old lady on my answering machine who read the OKGE article in the Morning News and decided to look me up and call me. She was trying to pawn off an old Atari 5200 with Breakout and Centipede for cash. I suuuurrrreeee hope I don't get a bunch of these calls unless they're offering it for free After that AP story ran that had my video game collection in it, I got calls for a month. In fact, just recently I got a letter from a lady in Illinois who saw the article in her local paper, cut it out, and mailed it to me. Go figure. The weirdest thing to happen to me from that article was me inhereting someone's complete TI 99/4A collection!
MegaManFan
Even though I heard the story in person at OKGE, it's nice to read it again, and see some wonderful photos along with it - the second time around feels all brand new. Thanks Flack!
SteveW
That's a really sad story about Ed and his TI collection. What's more sad, is I have a TI collection almost as large, and I know it'll probably get dumped in the trash if I were to pass away. It's rare to find someone else that shares the same amount of passion for collecting old computers. Kids today don't seem to have that drive. Or the ability to appreciate technology that isn't "the latest thing". I hope you've hooked up one of those TIs and given it a whirl. It was a great little computer.
