christianscott27
New England Classic Gaming Returns with another heavy trading, hard gaming get together! Sunday, June 27th 2pm-8pm Boston MA no membership or admission is required, all are welcome. The 11th NECG meet promises to be one of the best, with more members than ever and lots of game bundles turning up in the wild there should be something for everyone. from the 2600 to the xbox, PC and import games, hardware to homebrews...if its game related it turns up here to find a new home. if you've got a big pile of doubles or a small pile of cash it can surely be turned into a nice score, that goes for basic set ups and very rare items alike. NECG also offers game collectors a chance to get together and have a good time, aside from the usual chips and beer sorta stuff we'll also be running another one of our action packed gaming contests. last time around we focused on classic multiplayer games to bring out some high scoring action, this time around we're looking to try something a little different... obscure and strange games! we figure by playing unknown games we'll see a contest based on pure gaming skills, or at least have a good laugh and check out some cool stuff. if you've never attended one of get togethers before heres a brief primer on what we are and what to bring etc... >NECG is a three year tradition in the boston area, we're a party and trademeet...not a convention or video game store >NECG is made up of a bunch of local guys who met on atariage, digital press and RGVC. we're not affiliated with anyone, we're all about games and having a good time. >we're mostly about trading games but we leave it up the individual guest to decide if they want to buy or sell games, nobody sets up shop and sometimes a cash option is really nice for those without a ton of tradebait. >some of us like to have a beer and some dont, its a casual atmosphere not a frat party. nobody is encouraged to drink or anything like that, its about the vibe of watching a football game at a friend's place. smoking outside only please. >nobody wears nametags or sits in a circle, we prefer gaming contests. its a friendly crowd, you dont have to hide your geek pride here. > yes its in boston but on street parking is available and it is in a safe neighborhood far away from the big dig. its also very close to the subway, commuter rail and bus hub for those looking to use public transit. > how to get there? mapquest this! 19 Anson Street Jamaica Plain MA 02130 >need more info? have a question? visit our goofy website or private message me right here. christianscott27
New England Classic Gaming's Good Trader Guidelines Our get togethers are about having a good time and getting some great deals, in order to help keep it that way we've put together this short list. 1) make a list of what you're bringing to sell/trade, use it to keep track of what went to who. this will help cut down on "missing items". you'll also want to keep a list of what you picked up and from whom. get the other traders email, use it to deal with them directly should any problems arise. 2) to the best of my knowledge nothing has ever been stolen at one of our meets but with so many boxes of games mix-ups can happen. if possible bring your items in a box with a cover, when you're not on the trading floor put the cover on your stuff. also consider making a sign for your box with your name on it so everybody knows who to deal with 3) we're setting up a testing station for consoles! pretty simple stuff, you get an outlet and a TV ready for A/V and RF inputs. if possible i will help you with power supplies and TV hook-ups. i'm not prepared for you to test out each and every game you buy, its just too much to be running a meet while assisting everyone with my 20 some consoles. if you do get a dud game contact the trader and see what can be worked out. nobody is here to pull a fast one but many of us churn thru so many old games its not possible to test them all. 4) treat everyone else and their property with respect, lets keep this NECG tradition going! we're all game collectors here so follow the golden rule, treat people and their stuff like you'd want to be treated. make fair offers (dp guides will be on hand for this purpose) and only bring items you really want to trade. trading works on a first come first serve basis, trying to outbid another trader is just bad manners. hope that helps, happy trading to all! Still, I'll be there. This time I'll actually have some tradebait!
