82-T/A
I want to be able to program for the Atari 2600. What I expect to accomplish is: A) Have Fun doing it (I know it will be tedious, I am a programmer also) B) Be able to run it on a normal 2600 Can someone tell me: A) What I will need. B) What I will need to buy. C) What platform I can develop it on (do I need an ST?) D) Where can I get the hardware / proms E) Where can I get the compiler / chip burning software? Any help on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!
Nukey Shay
This can really be broken down into 2 halves...programming a 2600 game, and then transferring that program to a real cartridge. For the first half, no money or equipment whatsoever is required. Text editors and Dasm are free to develop the program, and emulators such as Z26 are free to test it. So those should be your only worries at this time.
