Okay, next Expo, I'm bringing my camera, and... I'm gonna make damn sure I'm in atleast ONE shot!!!!

I mean!!! wholly sacks of shitty face cream Batman! I was like NEVER in the right spot at the right time for ANY Photos!!!!

Come to think of it, I think I have a good theory as to why I'm not in any Photos:

Basically If I were to have had my picture taken, I would have been so damn good looking, so fucking hot, so sizzilingly sexxy that the camera would not be able to properly handle it. It cause the camera itself to sink into a deep depression caused by it's realization that compared to me, it's "just" a meesly camera. And it could take a photo of everything in this world, and still never shoot anything better looking than me. At which point the camera would simply decide to comit scuicide and spew it's batteries.

And even if the camera had successfully taken a picture of me, there is no telling the untold damage those photos would have had on the internet, So many computers simply commiting scuicide due to the fact that they downloaded, or even mearly graced a website that was linked to my photo.

It's probably best that I keep my studly hottness away from the camera.

Thank you Hhwolfman, and MMF you've saved the internet, once again!!!!

We're heading back tomorrow morning, and I just wanted to say I had a great time this year in San Jose for three reasons:

First and foremost, THEPEOPLE! It was great to see a lot of DP and AAers who I may not have had long amounts of time to chat with (from ApolloBoy to Jerry Jessop to ianoid to MayhemUK to punkoffgirl to RangerG to ubersaurus and more) but who I was very happy to see and who all seemed to be in great spirits. It was ESPECIALLY great to kick it with VidGameKing for lunch, CPUWIZ and hhwolfman at the show, the latter two plus Rick Weis and Mrs. hhwolfman in a wild evening of pool, drinking and stories. CPUWIZ earns an extra special commendation for not only cutting me great deals on some of his boxed games but for being dead on in his recommendations, from checking out the boardwalk in Santa Cruz to drinking/eating at Gordon-Biersch (we did both on Monday) but that's not meant to slight anybody else in any way - EVERYBODY rocked, whether they were named or not!

Secondly I have to go out of my way to thank the DP people for making the AAers feel warmly welcomed. I won't make hay out of this simply because there's no need to, other than to say that it was clear for both the organizers and the attendees that games came first and politics second. I hope our strong presence at the show this year is the first step towards "burying the hatchet" because it seems clear to me that there's opportunities to bring our hobby closer together based on the goodwill and camraderie at this show. I'd really like to see that happen, and I'll do my part by going to as many different shows as Mrs. MMF and I can attend and continuing to be "ambassadors of gaming" not just for any one site but the community as a whole. Special thanks to Joe for going out of his way to find me and say hi, and to John for making me laugh and smile with his boyish Tony Soprano charm - yes I'm serious about that. :D

Third I want to say I got a GREAT HAUL from the con. I do have pictures like hhwolfman's but I won't upload them until we get off our flight tomorrow. Until then, buy buy and buy bonds. Thanks to one and all and to the state of California for a g-r-r-r-reat time! As I said to the Mrs when we were laying on the beach in Santa Cruz with the waves of the ocean lapping at our feet, "I could get used to this!"

Aha, a Champ Adapter keypad. So that's what the box to those things looks like. Just so you know, I have two of them that I found long ago at a flea market.

The one thing I don't like about them is that they made it so that it wouldn't pass through a right button on a joystick plugged into the thing! In fact, I recall that they dioded the whole thing to make a 2600 stick into the equivalent of a Coleco stick. I mean, it's a simple matter of rewiring it, but it's not quite a trivial rewriting, and you have to actually do it.

CGE was great and I can bet all the AA members there had a great time. Hats off to DP for a well-run show!! I expected to enjoy all the games and the vendors and I did. What I really enjoyed and didn't really expect to were the auction and the speeches. The auction was fun to watch (that sneaky CPUWIZ even got a great deal on some mint label 2600 PAL carts at the auction :) and the bidding was fast and furious and it was nice to see money going to a very worthy cause (Special Olympics). The speakers were excellent and I assume being in San Jose allowed many to make it that would not have come if the convention were in another location. I asked a question at two of the speechs and the speakers gave great and detailed responses and seemed eager to share with everyone in attendance. Thanks to you guys for the posting the pics in this thread. It was great to meet fellow AA members and I hope to go to another convention someday.

want to Thank all the AAers that stopped by the NWCGE booth and talked to me. it was great to meet you all!

i had a GREAT time! (as always) at CGE!

my 4 favorite things:

1=picking up the Karate by ultravision friday afternoon. Thanks to Sean. CPUWIZ, (Brian the seller)

2= having fun with by best friends both saturday and sunday nights!

3=meeting and talking to all the people there.

4=beating CPUWIZ and MMF at pool saturday night. but i think my partner (HH) was the reason for that!

only 3 things would have made CGE better.

1= more 2600 releases. only one that had new boxed 2600 releases was packrat. (Thanks Jarett!)

2=BEST products would be a vender there. my favorite show of all time was world of atari and one of the main reasons for that was because BEST was there!

3= AtariAge would be a vender there.

well, time to unpack and get all the goodies i got at CGE and make room for them in my gameroom. (if that is possible) :ponder:

The show was great. I got to meet many more ex-Atari folks than ever before (Lance Lewis, John Skruch, Bill R., Susan McB., etc.), and it was especially fun hanging out with fellow gamers. Special thanks to Lee, Rick, and Hans, who were great fun to have next door at the NWCGE table & also at Sunday night supper, special thanks to Brad Prillwitz for helping out at the show, doing a meal run for me, and the ride to the airport, and EXTRA SUPER SPECIAL thanks to Glenn Bruner for providing equipment, assisting at my booth, and helping me get my stuff (and me!) to and from MN.

And to the Jag fans: you missed your chance to see the portable Jaguar in action! :D Very cool. Not to mention a chance to meet the Japanese Jaguar fans, who I met back in JagFest 2K1.

Nice job on the show, John, Sean, and Joe! Can't wait for a bigger and better CGE2K5. ;)
