vintagegamer89
Im just starting to get into arcade games and I want to try a project to get my feet wet with. So does anybody know of any free or really cheap arcade cabinets in the Omaha, NE area? They dont have to work. I realize the chances of me getting one for free are 1/100000, but I thought I would try.
sabeen557
I would look in the phone book and find an arcade or arcade supplier and ask them if they have old machienes they dont use anymore or a game that quit working.

sabeen557
I called an Arcade Distribution Company and talked to a guy about getting what I wanted.....He laughed at me..... I called a place to hear their prices for bad games and they were almost $1000. I suppose they wanted more money if you only wanted one, so I decieded if i ever wanted a cab i would build it myself
Ralph3
1-Look in your local paper. I'm sure that there might be a couple in there. 2-Also go to places that have Video Games like bowling alleys, bars, etc. and most have a distributors sticker on it and call their number and see what they might have, they might have a damaged cab that fell off the truck you can get cheap. 3-Wait until X-Mas for the Tilt arcades have their seasonal sale. You can get a good deal on a working arcade game at a good price starting at $200 (I have seen them that cheap). 4-Come to the VG auction here in St. Louis(Bellleville Illinois-Just 20 min. outside of St. Louis) on Oct. 30th- www.superauctions.com . I got a couple working games for $35-40. They sometimes will pay you ($1.00)to take an empty/broken cabinet. It might be worth it to take the 5 hr. drive to get a cheap cab/working game. EricDeLee
I don't live in Omaha anymore... but visit at least two or three times a month. There are PLENTY of arcade games for sale in that area. I saw a Space Invaders Upright for less than $500 the other day at a video game store. I also went to another video game store while I was there and they had an arcade room in the back. Something like 10 arcade games. All classics. It was on Dodge and something. Near the big mall out there (Crossroads???) They also had two Vectrex systems collecting dust behind the counter. They don't know anything about them except that they go for about $90. No games... just the system.
vintagegamer89
Yeah, youre talking about Gamers on 72nd and Farnam. Thats where I go to do most of my cart diving. They got smart though and noticed I was buying 15-20 boxed Intellivision games at a time for like $16 so they started putting them on Ebay. Basically the only carts there now are Space Invaders-2600, Space Armada-INTV. I saw the Arcade Cabinets there in that room, but thats still a little too pricey. My father is a hell of a good carpenter, and we have access to a full woodshop at his work, so we'll probably just end up building one.
