godsey1
Hi all. I was wondering around the local flea market this morning, and one of the venders the always has some games or consoles had and Atari Road Riot 4WD arcade machine. It look very good, but the only thing that kept me from buying it, was the monitor didn't have good color. I asked how much and the price was $250.00. Would this be a decent price? Everything works on it, and he had a box full of mechanical parts for spares. Tony
EricDeLee
I think I'd have bought that one. If it is a game you really like... monitors can be replaced fairly without draining your walet completely. Well... unless you are working on a Tempest Cabinet or something., lol
Ralph3
If the color is off on the screen, it is just in need of a cap kit installed. Not too hard to do, but very dangerous. Can cost about $15.00 in parts but the labor (if you don't do it yourself) might be a little pricey at a repair shop. If you do it yourself-TAKE YOUR TIME! IT CAN KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T DO IT PROPERLY! There are a few tutorials on the web on how to do it. When they mention grounding the High-Voltage lead, it really isn't a loud snap, it is more like a knuckle pop. Good luck if you get it and do it yourself. chadtower
$250 is too much for the upright. Way too much.
Flack
I paid $175 for mine (upright) and it had one bad firing trigger and also needs a cap kit. $200 is ballpark I'd guess, but like anything else it depends on how bad you want it and local pricing in your part of the country. Stingray
$250 would be the upper extreme of what I, personally, would be willing to pay for that machine, but it's not way out of line IMO. -S
godsey1
Well, the wife decided that I didn't need it . I guess that someone else can have it. I was going to see if he would sell it for $175.00, but I guess I don't have to now. I bought a Nintendo toploader from him a while back for $2.00, he said he didn't know what it was . Thanks for posts, Tony
Stingray
Well, the wife decided that I didn't need it I never ask the wife before buying new toys. It's far easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. -S
