Tempest
The title says it all: http://www.papa.org/flood.php All those beautiful pinball machines ruined. Not to mention some one of a kinds like a Tatoo Assassins prototype and a sit down Omega Race. This is depressing... Tempest

Ralph3
I see a pinball backglass sale coming soon. That is the only things that are salvageable(sp?) if cleaned quickly and safely. Sucks to see such rare games get ruined. Especially Orbiter, very unique pinball game, not a flat surface on the playfield.
ussexplorer
To bad they don't have the man power. Depending on how long the units been under water. They could hose them down and dry them out. Yea, the wood would be qustionable on each unit. But as long as they was not plugged in. One could high pressure those out to a point and dry it out. Pain staken process. HOpefully they had insurance. laters, ussexplorer

MegaManFan
Wow, that's horrid. I think how I'd feel if my basement were flooded, but this is on a much more vast and devestating scale.
Cassidy Nolen
Terrible news, and so sorry to see such a loss. It appeared that most of the units were newer ones. Not sure on production numbers, but hopefully they were insured and can be replaced. I agree if there were time, they could be cleaned and many would be salvageable. The boards that have battery supplies might be fried, but most of those boards can be dried if they get wet. I know guys who use a pressure washer on arcade monitors. Most things can get wet, and if they dry fully, be ok. Dont know about the cabs, or the diesel fuel. Sad pics, sorry to hear about that. z28in82
That is such a shame, it saddens me greatly, to think that such an amazing collection was destroyed
nicadoo
According to the latest news on their website, they had no flood insurance and they are being denied coverage by their regular insurance company.
ussexplorer
Yea there is a few areas around here that are flood areas. That you have to be carefull to find this out from the city or what not officials. Since the first thing the insurance company will do is say. Oh you look you are in a flood zone and we don't cover that. They also make it clear it is not up to them. it is up to you to make sure you have coverage for what you need in your area. Sigh... wrenchien
i've heard of this on another board.. and being a big fan of pinball games (hey, i've even made some virtual ones over the past couple of years since the real ones haven't been easy to find in south texas) , it does sadden my heart to think this is the final fate of too many machines , that brought entertainment to the hearts of countless pinball fans and video game fans over the years. it is my hope, that if anyone has any pinballs to spare in their collections, that they just donate it, pack it up and send it to papa as a donation, so they can rebuild their legendary collection. because pinball deserves better than to quite literally drown and be forgotten.
