Cassidy Nolen
http://klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=1637 I have a green one, called IQ Computer Quiz, IIRC. Its in storage, mostly working (I would say 80%) and complete except for the coin door (on the side like a Jukebox one, easy to make a new one). The game uses a film projector that displays the image on the "screen". The image has 5 holes in the side that are either covered (making it the right selection) or incorrect. Game keeps score with some wild light bulbs that have 0-9 shaped filaments in them. I had it working, but the 'tracking' for lack of a better word was off. Not looking for much money or in trade, but I insist it goes to a home that would love it and take good care of it. It was the Quiz series that was the predecessor to Nuttings Computer Space. The boards look very similar, and you can see the design for a digital game coming. Game is in the DC area, let me know if you are interested. I may just take it to Philly this next year for sale, too. Cassidy
Tempest
That's wild! I'd love to see it in person. I didn't even know this existed. Tempest
bjk7382
I may just take it to Philly this next year for sale, too. Cassidy I would possibly be interested in taking it at Philly. If it doesn't sell by then, of course.
sku_u
Looks very interesting. 1968...is this Solid State, EM, or somehwere in between?
sku_u
Nevermind, looking at your description, I'm assuming it's EM.
Cassidy Nolen
No, its a hybrid. Mostly, its a solid state machine. The system uses light sensors and a computer to tell if you get the answer right. There are a few big relays in the box, but mostly all contained on three or four PCB's much like CS in design. Got to it today, did not have a chance to fire it up. Man, its been like forever since I had seen it. Cassidy
Retro Rogue
Haven't seen one of those in years, I remember playing them (or trying to, since my age was still in the single digits) in the mid 70's at the airport. That cabinet style and typeface/bezel reminds me of the old hot wax mold machines as well.
