Adrian M
I have a hard time understanding why ANYONE would want to play Dark Castle. It's a horrible, horrible game on the Sega Genesis, and that was in color. Somehow I doubt that the Macintosh version in black and white would be much of a step up. JR Factor in that the original version came out in 1984-1985 and featured some really decent sound effects (for the era) as well as high resolution graphics (again, compared to the monochrome IBM displays of that time), along with the mouse/keyboard control and you'll see why the original Dark Castle was held in such high regard. The Genesis version, like most of its PC ports, was an abomination.
Stingray
I don't think anyone mentioned Glypha yet. Super fun Joust clone. Adrian, I thought I was the only one who liked Glider. What a fantastic time waster that one was! -S

What a fantastic time waster that one was! -S Heh. Glider had plenty of fans, in fact, several versions were released over the years! And it's now considered freeware (according to this article http://www.macgamer.com/features/?id=1603 ) so everyone can have a chance to enjoy it! I do remember Glypha as well. They included it on one of the old MacAddict CD's and if I'm not mistaken, I think it was developed by some people at Apple Computer as sort of a demo program to help developers. There was also a freeware port of Tempest called "Arashi" which was free and pretty much spot-on as well.

Starman
I still have my Marathon boxes - both the CD and the floppy versions of M1. How about Shufflepuck Cafe? Mike
128bytes
There was a really nice version of Risk that would run even on a b+w machine (not sure how much RAM it needed, but still) Also, I remember "Weslyan Tetris"...that was pretty amusing. "Nice Slide..." I used to play that version of Risk on the Mac Classics in college all the time...also, a version of Wheel of Fortune... kisrael
Do you know the version of Tetris I'm talking about? Oh dang, looks like it was pulled: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22randa...&sa=N&scoring=d Eh, probably wouldn't run nowadays anyway. Still it was funny as heck, a tetris that cheats... Stingray
Ah, how could I have left that one out? Arashi is a really great Tempest clone. I actually play that one on my MAME cab fairly often. -S
