Shawn
Hello, I was wondering how I can go about tryin gto get a Prototype of this game? I know this might have been suited for the Marketplace but I really thought if at all this would be the place to start asking questions here in the prototype section. Also how much am I looking at to pay for a proto of Smurf:rescue... as I have no idea what the value of this would be. I want becuase it is my all time favorite game and I think a proto of it would top off my collection quite nice. Thanks For The help, Shawn Sr.
MattG/Snyper2099
I would say you are going to be hard pressed to find a smurfs prototype for a few reasons. 1. It's a third party release by Coleco. Coleco prototypes are very scarce and hard to find. As a rule of thumb, it's harder to find 3rd party prototypes (games not released by Atari). 2. There is a crossover because there are lots of people that collect smufs crap making it even harder to aquire. 3. Coleco was kind of Atari's rival back in the day, making a proto of any Coleco product and instantly desireable collectable. Just like a prototype of any Atarisoft title for the CV would be quite valuavle. I'd say you're looking in the $125-$225 dollar range on this one if you could find one for sale. TheRedEye
Why not go for a proto of the Colecovision version? It might be easier to find, and if I'm not mistaken the 2600 game is just a port of it anyway.
Shawn
I had a chance to buy the colecovision system proto and passed on it cause I want the atari version. I should have bought it though cause it was a drunk seller in montreal that had smurf & zaxxon proto (just the boards no case) for 45 each But... I already spent my limit when I found his booth at the show what would they have gone for each just to drive the knife a little deeper in my gut that I didn't buy them even for traders or resale please? (I hope this dosent hurt that bad to find out what the collector value is) Also I must add it was the Brazillian Zaxxon proto wit the name Gaxxon printed on the EPROMs stickers and in the game.
