Hi there!

And the series continues. This time I picked a selection of classic 8-Bit computer games from Broderbund. The only Broderbund game that made it to the 2600 so far is "Midnight Magic", so there's some gaps to fill :)

I picked the selection according to ratings given at Lemon64.

Greetings,

Manuel

You think Castles of Dr Creep is possible on a 2600? If it is, I'd sure like to see it :)

I voted for that anyway, mainly as it's not a shoot-em-up and you've done a run of those lately, I think a platform game might be a nice diversion.

Spelunker, Karateka. Yum yum!

Anyone? :)

I think someone once posted mockup images of what Karateka might look like on the 2600. Don't know how realistic they were, but the mockups didn't look bad. :)

I haven't played all of the above games, only about half of them. Lode Runner is my first choice.

I remember Lode Runner for the Apple II - it was a very addictive game that I spent hours playing at a friend's place because I didn't have a computer back then. Now that there have been numerous ports, it would be nice to see it on the 2600. BTW, any more news on the Jumpman experiment? :?:

I've thought often about Karateka and Wings of Fury on the 2600. Karateka seems so obvious I wonder why it never happened back in the 80s. Certainly the hardware should be able to handle it, maybe with some 30Hz flickering for the two fighters. WOF on the other hand, I think, would be a true technical marvel if anyone was able to do it...
