joeybastard
This is probably a dumb question but I can't seem to find the answer in the O2 FAQ I googled. Are the O2s region free? What does Canada use? I think they are NTSC but I'm not positive. In other words, if I get a O2 console from Canada am I going to have a problem here in the states? joeybastard
Canada=NTSC. Great! That's what I thought but then I thought about the whole French Canadian thing and got to wondering about PAL/SECAM and all of that stuff. I bid on an O2 to replace my dead one and only realised after bidding it was in Canada so I got a little nervous. Thanks
Tempest
Yes the O2 is region free, but there are some games that won't work on the US O2 (Frogger and Interpool come to mind). Of course none of the advanced 7200 games will work on the US O2 unless you were lucky enough to find a O3 prototype (even then I don't know if they would work). joeybastard
Thanks for the extra info. I'm just concerned with getting another working O2 console. I have a bunch of boxed games, a nice system box and that weird RF switch, but the console just outputs a black screen no matter what I've tried. I get sound from starting the games so I know it running but even modding it to AV has not produced any picture from this thing. It funny the copy I have of Wall Street Fortune has all of the pieces still in the sealed plastic. I guess it was a real popular game with the original owner
Stingray
... that weird RF switch... I didn't know that the O2 used an unusual RF switch. I hook mine up through the same switch that I use for my Ataris, CV, INTV, and pretty much everything else that outputs RF. -S

I actually switched it out for a standard one as the first thing I tested when I couldn't get a picture.
