Atari Flashback System

2.0 is where it's at.  The original is not worth $10, not even as a novelty.

Not even for some unique NES controllers?

They don't have the same pinouts as the NES, nor do they have the requisite number of buttons, so I'd say no. Especially not with the drastically improved model coming "Summer 2005," whatever that means. I hope to see it sooner rather than later!

No, the Flashback sticks have all 4 buttons.

And pinout's no big deal. Scrapping the DB9 for an NES plug anyways. Or building an adapter, but either way, you have to rewire.

Whoops, you're right -- I forgot these things had the START and SELECT buttons on the sticks. Maybe it would be worth it for the unique controllers.

I just checked Amazon-- they're clearing them out at $16.99 a pop.

That's actually Target's price, too (they are WWW store partners). Gaaah, I'm so weak ... I might swing by and grab one just to have a dedicated Solaris machine, bad sound and everything. I wish that game was on the Atari Anthology. :x
