SteveW
Is there a platform in Japan that doesn't have a dozen Mahjongg games on it? And are there any CD/DVD based consoles that don't have adult Mahjongg games on it?
Mad Scientist
My recommendations: Bust-A-Move Shockwave, SW:OJ, & Shockwave 2- great series The Need For Speed- great gameplay (and sound) Wing Commander III- very well done; plays well even w/o the flightstick Return Fire & Maps o' Death Lucienne's Quest Flashback/Alone In the Dark/Out of this World- great versions (esp. Flashback) Zhadnost: The People's Party (I prefer it to Twisted) D and Hell- I'm a sucker for adventure games Star Fighter- fly anywhere, tight control, good music (mostly... what's "Death by Stereo" supposed to mean?) FIFA Soccer Phoenix 3- a bit choppy/ low-budget, but I dug it I've enjoyed many others, but those are probably the highlights. The Wolf3D version is good, the D&D games are fun, Gex and Soccer Kid ("Get off my laaand!") are good platformers, Icebreaker is a good action-puzzler, Ballz plays well, Olympic Summer Games has fencing fun... there are lots of good games. The few stinkers include: Mazer Cyberdillo (even w/ the screen @ postage stamp size) Seal of the Pharaoh (they meant well, and it was an early title, but still...) As for the adult titles, I've only played Neurodancer, with played being used loosely. There's almost no gameplay, and I've seen animated gifs here @ AA that look about as good as your "reward"... but it still beats Mazer and Cyberdillo as a game -Mad Sci. Flojomojo
Is there a platform in Japan that doesn't have a dozen Mahjongg games on it? And are there any CD/DVD based consoles that don't have adult Mahjongg games on it? 854306 Rhetorical question, I presume? The answer is of course a resounding NO. The friggin' PSP launched with not one but two mahjongg games. Is it safe to assume that they sell since they keep getting produced? Or maybe they're like the video game version of spam, which no one wants but it won't go away? 3DO discussion seems particularly quaint in the light of the XBOX 360 hype released yesterday. Then again, it all seems somewhat familiar. The 3DO was launched with a similar torrent of hype over features no one really wanted or was willing to pay for. Dang, 3DO and XBOX 360 are almost named the same ...

jesusc
I use to have Yakyuken Special for 3DO. I sold it on the Ebay, and picked up the Saturn version instead. Features more women, and more importantly GAME SHARK CODES!!!111!.. Recently got back into 3DO again. After owning countless versions of the consoles since 1996, I finally got a Game Guru. Rock! Jess Ragan
My best 3DO recommendation isn't a game, but a peripheral. You MUST have a 3D Zero controller convertor. I purchased one from another member of this forum for twenty five cents, and frankly, I can't think of a better way to spend a quarter. The convertor and a Super Advantage joystick completely transforms the Super Street Fighter II Turbo experience... you'll never want to play the game without it. It can't do anything to save Way of the Warrior, though... its problems go well beyond the controller you use to play it. JR
+Random Terrain
As someone already said, Star Control 2 is great. It's the best version of the game. Wish it had more randomness in it, but it's still pretty good and I like some of the music. Quarantine was fun, but it's hard on the eyes after playing GTA: SA or Crazy Taxi. I'd love a new version of Quarantine on the Xbox or PS2.

JR 867913 ha ha I just pm'ed Steve to see if he could get any more. I've got a Performance gamepad 6 that i find works pretty well with SSF2T. A Stick would be a better setup though. I've been sitting on a sealed copy of Star Control 2 for about a year. I've yet to come across any used copies, and I can't bring myself to open this one up. What a loser. SteveW
Yeah, I have to get a day off on the weekend to pick some more SNES-to-3DO adapters up. My boss won't let me off too often on weekends, since it's the busiest time of the week. And now, that jerk's snaked my vacation time out from under me, so I might not be able to go to the Oklahoma Videogame Expo now.
Trip_Cannon
I thought I read some where that the 3DO version of Doom sported full motion video sequences. Is this true?

Is this true? 869978 I think it was supposed to. It took forever to come out, and when it did, it was the worst console port ever. Worse than the shitty 32X or Saturn ports, despite the power of the system. The SNES version is better. And that's bad.
