Derek
I found eight odyssey 2 carts, no box, but scratch free for $2.30, tax in at Value Village. They show up on e-bay for $1.25 US plus about $5 shipping each, so buying here seems a deal, though I don't have a machine to play them on. Guess my question is whether ones that show up on e-bay still really work. ($30 US plus shipping price range.) I had one in the early 80's. It came on every time, but this is not like using an Atari. Just buy another Atari if it craps out. I haven't seen anything Odyssey 2 since Mom decided we didn't use it enough and sold it an a yard sale (about 1983) with all the carts for $20. I was so pissed. Just one of the carts cost more than that! I contributed my allowance toward some of the games. Did I get the mere $20? Noooo. Any thots fellow retro gaming community? video game addict
Odyssey 2's seem to be fairly rare in these parts, but I have made a few finds. I've seen 3-4 systems, and at least 30+ carts. Some boxed, some loose. But still not many finds over the years. I did check ebay from time to time & rrecall selling mine, I think it was close to $30 shipped when I sold. They go almost unnoticed on ebay. If you find a seller starting the auction off cheaply, then a boxed system will often go for around $25-40 tops. Unless some rarer games are packed with it. I would think $50 total will get you a nice looking system shipped to your door, with a small lot of commons, maybe all boxed. And still be in excellent working condition. These are hard to find in some areas, but not in high demand online either, so still pretty cheap.
Atarifever
I got mine in the wild for, I think, between 10 and 15 dollars with a couple of games. That was without things like shipping costs and stuff, but I kind of feel ripped off anyway.
joeybastard
I have a boxed O2 and I'll throw in some carts for $50(US) shipped. The shipping on these is expensive because they are so big and kind of heavy. The last one I bought cost $17 to ship and that was all in the US. I'm assuming US to Canada will cost a bit more. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we'll work something out. Edited June 15, 2005 by joeybastard
davepesc
I got mine at a flea market for $30 with 8 complete games. Unfortunately, I didn't know how hard it would be to replace the missing RF switch, so I'll probably never even know if it works unless I mod it. christianscott27
there kinda like the master system, they're not super common but almost everybody who wants one can get one cheaply. i've got a few extras here and i cant ever find any takers at our trademeets. as far as the hardware goes they seem to be very solid machines, at least i've never found a broken one. maybe theres another collector in your area who can hook you up with one, they shouldnt be more than $25 loose. chrisbid
30 dollars seems to be the mendoza line for a good price on lesser known classic consoles (O2, Coleco, SMS, 5200, 7800, INTV, etc). if you hunt, you can do better, but you can do a hell of a lot worse. Famicoman
My machine was $20 with 6 boxed games. I have seen games at convetions for about $5, so games are worth it.
SteveW
I bought mine at the Oklahoma Game Expo last year for $40 and with a dozen games. There's a thrift nearby with about 15 cartridges, all overpriced at $4.95 each. What's the point of a game like Quest For The Rings when you don't have the board game that came with it? Lord Thag
Check out www.4jays.com They have piles of O2 stuff for reasonable prices.
pinball22
There's a guy at a flea market here who has a huge thing full of loose O2 carts and fairly often has systems and more unusual stuff... it seems to show up more here because there's a Magnavox plant.
