One of the ways is not letting Yar wrap around the playfield. Yar's Return is a 2600 sequel to the great Yar's Revenge, and the completion of its original intent, which is arcade Star Castle.In both Star Castle and Yar's Revenge, the player can wrap around the playfield. For over 20 years, we've been wrapping the screens of both Yar's Revenge and Star Castle. If Yar can't wrap in Yar's Return, is it a big deal to you? Should Yar be able to wrap? I would just like to have an option for Yar to wrap in the new game, like he did in the first Yar's game, and did in his inspiration, Star Castle 19 views and 5 votes. Yar's return is already a rather different game from either the first Yar or Star Castle, so gameplay is what you make of it, and there's not really a "tradition" that needs to be followed. That said, if it were my decision (and it ain't), I'd let it be a selectable option, either by game variations or difficulty switches.
