Problems with NES: Need help

If you take a fully functioning NES apart and look where the slot is assembled, you'll see a pin that is lodged in there. That's what makes the tray click in. I had a system that lost the pin years ago and I just gave up on it (almost). I used to push the cart down until it would work well, and then lodge another cart or something along the same lines to hold the game down. I got sick of that and just got rid of it. Now I know if you had a spare system you could probably switch some parts up but it might not be worth it in the long haul. :)
