atarimind
Hello, I need some help with my NES. Whenever I insert a cart and push down, the cart is not staying down. I believe that my loading system is worn-out. Is there any replacement for this piece? What do you recommend? Is it difficult to change? Thanks once again! elliott
One idea would be to change the 72-pin connector for one of the new ones that don't require you to push the game down. That way you solve two problems at once. Edited June 26, 2005 by elliott
junglehunter
If you take a fully functioning NES apart and look where the slot is assembled, you'll see a pin that is lodged in there. That's what makes the tray click in. I had a system that lost the pin years ago and I just gave up on it (almost). I used to push the cart down until it would work well, and then lodge another cart or something along the same lines to hold the game down. I got sick of that and just got rid of it. Now I know if you had a spare system you could probably switch some parts up but it might not be worth it in the long haul.
