Mindfield
STEem doesn't like me. Seems that if I enable DirectSound -- as I did so often prior to going the XP route -- then resetting the virtual ST causes it to run at a screaming pace of about one frame every 10 seconds. Might be okay playing Chess, but definitely not Llamasoft-worthy. Soon as I turn DirectSound (and thus all sound) off, it runs just fine. Any ideas? Buggered if I can work it out myself, especially when it ran fine with DirectX 8 on WinMe, but not with 8.1 on XP. And no, compatibility mode doesn't help. So's you all know, I've got a Duron 700Mhz, 384mb RAM (PC133), 100+18gb HD, WinXP Pro, DX8.1, SB Live! sound card, and a GeForce 2MX video card. I'd really like to get it working with sound, 'cos STEem is just about the most compatible emu there is at the moment.
