Super Hydlide - Final Boss

For the handful of people who may be playing this game or may want to play it in the future, this post may contain spoilers regarding the final boss fight. For the handful of people who have beaten this game, this post's for you!

 

Onward then...

 

Before the battery in this game dies, does anybody know exactly how many hits it takes to defeat the final boss in Super Hydlide? It's literally been years (likely ten or more) since I played this game and got my character to the final boss. I've busted up his four hump-things, which makes him cease moving, then I attack his mouth (why is it always the mouth?) until my character starves and eventually dies.

 

I'm sure the mouth is the place to attack because A) it's always the mouth and this thing is mostly mouth, B) the mouth makes the "taking damage" sound effect when hit, and C) no other part of this things body provides any feedback when attacked.

 

My last attempt at beating the final boss was probably a year ago. Hmm, maybe I should test that battery .

My best advice for any Hydlide game:

 

1. Remove Hydlide from game system.

2. Disinfect game system thoroughly.

3. Set Hydlide on sturdy table.

4. Procure metal mallet.

5. HULK SMASH!!!

 

Best way to make the hurting stop.

I too made it to the final boss after days of constant playing. I too blasted his four kneecaps but like others was unable to kill the bloody thing I still have the game and would also love to know how to kick the living **** out of the boss. Someone must know

A quick google search of "Super Hydlide - Final Boss" reveals: To defeat the final boss, shoot off all his arms. He will stay motionless. Enter his mouth while continually firing your weapon. If you have enough hit points you will easily defeat Kaizack and win the game.

 

Perhaps thats the ticket.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I seem to remember entering its mouth on purpose as a test and dying in a matter of seconds. I don't recall if I was using my weapon in there (was kinda dark, and it smelled like popcorn). Now, if the payoff is a black screen that says "You saved the universe, congratulations!" I will be severely disappointed...to say the least. Anybody see the ending to this? Should I have my mini-sledge at hand?

Ta-dah, the ending to Super Hydlide. Yes, you were supposed to hop into his mouth but with a LOT of health. :*)

 

 

I originally played Super Hydlide back in the late 90s and couldn't beat it as a kid. I tried it later in mid-2000, still couldn't beat it. Now I tried again (2009) and finally beat this damn thing. I can die well now

Thanks for posting that! I certainly haven't had the inclination to get my character to the point where he'd survive Kaizack's belly for that amount of time. Also, I'm glad to see the ending doesn't completely suck!
