I always liked the arcade version of Gun•Smoke, but it wouldn't play too well without the rotational joystick that the arcade game had. The NES version of the game was lousy without it.

According to Klov, Gun Smoke didn't have a rotational joystick - it had a standard 8-way joystick with 3 buttons; you combined the 3 buttons to get 6 (Or 5?) different firing directions. :?

EDIT: The game I voted for, Wild Western, did have a rotational joystick - but I still think you could make a decent port; you'd just have to creatively work around the controller limitations.

Maybe I'm thinking of that one.... the Stop 'N Go gas station that I used to play games at had both of those games, along with loads and loads of others throughout the '80s.
