squiredogs
I've often tried to get my gigantic classic game collections down over the years. I've had so many things, there's no way I'd ever be able to keep it all. So, I tried to prune down each system to an absolute 25 games. When it came to systems other than the 2600, it wasn't too hard. I even was able to sell the whole systems that I pruned. After several years of selling off 2600 stuff, I'm still at like 100 or so. Sorry if this has been done, but who can make a 25 game, no regrets 2600 list. No multicarts, but you can keep stella somewhere on your computer to make it less painful. Maybe after I read a few examples, I'll get that collection down some more! My "today" list, not good enough to actually pull it off: 1 - Missile Command 2 - Adventure 3 - Bowling 4 - Space Invaders 5 - Warlords 6 - Berzerk 7 - Circus Atari 8 - Starmaster 9 - Turmoil 10 - Enduro 11 - Pitfall 12 - Casino 13 - Enduro 14 - Pressure Cooker 15 - Tapper 16 - Carnival 17 - Video Pinball 18 - Skiing 19 - Breakout 20 - Football 21 - Defender 22 - Star Voyager 23 - Superman 24 - Track and Field 25 - Yar's Revenge Crap - I forgot H.E.R.O.! See, it can't be done... Someone try though -

Bowling and I'm a happy man 997350 Dodge 'em - how could I forget? One of the ones I play often, and one I owned originally back in '79. And another Bowling fan! While I've owned Sloar Fox 5 times over, I never played it. Sounds like I missed a good one. Time to find the emulator file... is there Stella for OS X? RickHarrisMaine
Solar Fox is one of the best games ever made for the 2600. Quite an excellent port of an arcade game I never remember ever seeing. And no Frogger? or Millipede, which I think is better than Centipede? No Asteroids? Not even Solaris? Not even Solaris? 997468 Frogger is better on the Sega Genesis - in fact, it is the exact arcade version. I prefer Centipede over Milipede (although in September it was the other way around - go figure). I never liked Asteroids (I know - that is blasphemous). In truth, Solaris is in my top thirty (#27 to be exact). The reason we all have different lists and the reason seeing others lists is because we all see, view and enjoy the 2600 differently. I am not glued to the "classics" in the 2600 library so I feel no regrets about excluding them from my personal top 25. For me, it is very simple - which games do I enjoy playing the most? When I go to turn on my 2600, which games do I reach for? My top 25 reflects that despite what others may feel is lacking.
