Items for Atari 2600 manufactured in Brazil

Dear friend Rom,

The orange "River Raid" is of "Atarimania".

The others two cartridges "River Raid" have the name "Video Jogo".

The cartridge without label in the front is the game "Crack Pots". The original name of the game I saw inside of cartridge. The photo and scan that I placed with the name "Atarimania" in the circuit plate (circuit board) are of the cartridge "Crack Pots".

The games "Keystone Kappers" & "No Scape" are the cartridges without front label (I placed labels with the Atari logo).

The name "No Scape" is original and is written inside of the cartridge.

I open today the cartridges with label "Atari" (Atari logo) to inform better.

One of them has the name "Atarimania" in the circuit plate (orange Keystone Kappers). I placed the correct name "Keystone Kappers" in end label therefore inside of the cartridge as "KK".

The cartridges with simple label (white) I made therefore when they had the originals were very damaged.

The game "No Scape" does not have inside the name of the manufacturer of the cartridge. (in the circuit plate)

Confirming: the cartridge with the game "Keystone Kappers" (orange box with Atari logo) is of the 'Atarimania'.

"Crack Pots" also is of the 'Atarimania'.

Any doubt can ask friend. :)

Thanks, It's a pleasure to contribute with information for the community.

I go to place some interesting items now.

*The first one is the cartridge with name "Video Arte" that has four games.

Games:

> Keystone Kapears / Mr. Postman / Boby / Seaquest (4 in 1)

> Eggmania (*Eggomania)

*Another one is the cartridge of "Dactar" that has four erotic games (pornographic).

*I have a cartridge that it has front label similar to the "Onyx Junior" from manufacturer 'Microdigital'.

The name is "Ocean Game" and the plastic box is different of the "Onyx Junior". Other games of this name exist.

This cartridge also uses the name 'Tecnogame' (see photos of carts with the boxes).

##Other cartridges ("Ocean Game"):

> Bob's Going Home / Donkey Kong / River Raid IV / Spider Man (4 in 1)

> Pressure Cooker / Donkey Kong / Phanton / Frontline (4 in 1)

>> Super Man / River Raid I / Turmoil / Megamania II (4 in 1)

It has two keys in the laterals but only one key works really.

The game change is difficult and many times appear the same game. It has games with variations of others.

In two games appears in the screen from TV "Sancho 82'" and "Sancho 1983". It has game "Pac Kong" and many others.

It has more than fifty games but is difficult to select. (off/on console and key)

The color system is PAL-M (Brazil) and must be a manufacturer who copied label of the "Onyx Junior".

*Another interesting cartridge is with name "Fantastic Game".

It has 32 games (32 in 1) and five keys to select the games. It has some rare games.

Some inform that it is made in Taiwan but the text in lateral label (end) is in Portuguese. ('32 jogos raros em 1')

The color system is PAL-M (Brazil). Label back of my cartridge is damaged.

The code (part number) of it is: 3204N

>>Contains the following titles (games): Tic-Tac-Toe, Cowboy, Laser Blast, Tennis, Ski Run, Outlaw, Math, Freeway, Chess, Air Land War, Boxing, Bowling, I.Q. Winner, Tank War, Basketball, Airtroops, Ant War, Football, Golf, Fishing, Pingo II, Othello, Cannon Gun, Bridge, Fancy Tank, Robbit Runn, Laser Focus, Snake War, Space Hunter, Paratroops, Baseball, and Mini Golf.

It seems ironic that everything is in Spanish but the actual game names are in English... for example, "Custer's Revenge"...

Dear Paranoid,

In Brazil the language is Portuguese and not Spanish. Portugal "discovered" and colonized Brazil. The Portuguese had arrived here in April, 22 of 1500. Already existed indians here.

Some manufacturers of cartridges modified the name of the game but the majority kept the original name.

See more information in the link below:

I go to place here the information that I placed in another topic.

This is a cartridge rare to find in Brazil. The name is "Game Jo" or "Jo Game".

List of games that I have:

> 2 in 1 - Air Sea Batle / Sex Man (*X-Man)

> 2 in 1 - Enduro / River Raid

> 2 in 1 - River Raid / Sea Quest

> Berzerk

> Demon Attack

> Kangaroo

> Laser Gate

> Moon Patrol

> River Raid

These games had been manufactured in Brazil (PAL-M).

In the image from TV with the game "Moon Patrol" appears "Jo Game 1985".

I have seven box of them (plastic boxes). The cartridges with two games have a key behind.

Well... that explains why I could *almost* read it but couldn't quite figure it out...

I knew jogos was juegos and atencao (sin accentos) was probably attention. Retirar was obviously an unconjucated verb, etc... I just figured it was tense or conjucation or words I didn't know yet. :)

My child used to have daycare, before I was learning Spanish, with a Portuguese woman. We were at the park one day, and my daughter was saying, "Vas, Vas" to this hispanic boy. His mom said, "Your child speaks Spanish"? I said, "I don't know... does she?!?" She replied, "She is telling my son to Go... Go..." Heh.

She also used to ask for "Pow" (pan) all the time, and we had no idea what she wanted and she would get so frustrated with us. :)

Fantastic Game is from Italy.

Dear Rom,

I used an old TV for tests (only PAL-M).

Brazil is the only country in the world that uses 'PAL-M' system.

"M" because the frequency is 60Hz (cycles for second or c/s).

Italy uses system PAL-B/G.

"B" or "G" because the frequency is 50Hz. (and others)

Systems for transmission of TV in colors: NTSC, PAL and SECAM.

The system of colors adopted in Brazil is PAL, with characteristics of transmission of they imagens (in black and white) of 60 Hertz (Hz) as in the United States; for this reason, the assignment 'M' (PAL-M).

When I use a cartridge 'PAL-B/G' (they say 'PAL') with my TV the image is "scintillating" (horizontal lines) and the colors can be different.

I tested the cartridge "Fantastic Game" and the colors & images had been perfect.

I tested with the 'NTSC' cartridge of the Activision "Boxing" (AG-002) and the image was perfect.

I tested with 'PAL' cartridge of the Activision "Boxing" (PAG-002) and the image was bad. (colors and horizontal lines)

This cartridge has the game "Boxing" and the image is perfect.

I have two identical cartridges of these (one with defect) and end label is equal in the two.

The text is written in Portuguese, not Italian or English.

Or the cartridge was manufactured in Brazil or Italy made especially in 'PAL-M' system with text in Portuguese.

See in the link below and photo more information.

Dear friend keilbaca,

Thank you for your interest.

The Supercharger "Splice" is lesser (minor) of that the "Stella" and "Canal 3".

Approach size of "Splice": 12 x 8,1 x 2 cm

The "Splice" does not load the program of the cassettes from "Canal 3" and "Stella". (not compatible)

Excellent Sunday for you.

Do any of the 4 cassette systems ("Arcadia / Starpath", "Canal 3", "Splice", "Stella") work with any of the other systems' tapes? Are there any other Supercharger clones to add to this group, and if so, are their tapes compatible with any of the other systems?

The box is small and of the size of cart.

Dear friend,

I believe that the Stella and Arcadia/Starpath are compatible.

The two that I placed here are not compatible. Also not with the original that I placed above (in top).

Here in Brazil it had another model manufactured for the company "Digitel" with the name "Digigame K7". I do not have this device.

The company "canal 3" had another initial model that I saw in a magazine. (similar)

The cartridge with name "VGS" (or "VCS") has some types of label.

Label "VCS" is similar to the one of the small cartridges that already I placed here. (but it's bigger)

The cartridges with orange label has the plate of the cicuit (circuit board) similar to the used in small cartridges.

I find that the manufacturers are different but they had used similar labels. (plastic boxes are very different)

VGS - Video Game System

VCS - Video Computer System

I find that the manufacturer used two names.

It has cartridges with one or two labels.

The cartridges with label "VGS" that has details in blue/yellow and green/red have one or two labels. When has only one label exists name "tv game program" in front.

Some details: (see photos)

In the initial screen of the two games "Enduro" it appears "VGS >>> BRASIL". In the game appears "BRASIL".

In the initial screen of the game "River Raid" it appears "BRASIL >>> VGS". In the game appears "BRASIL".

"BRAZIL" in Portuguese if writes "BRASIL".

In one of the games "Enduro" lateral label was made. (white)

The cartridge with two games has a key in the lateral.

The cartridge with the game "Stampede" has "VCS" in front label but the plastic box where if it keeps it is "VGS"

List of games:

* 2 in 1:

> Hero / Moom Patrol (error in letter "N" when written)-two labels('VGS' silver with green/red)

* One game:

> Atlantis

> Defender

> Demon Attack

> Donkey Kong ('VCS' in front label)

> Enduro (orange label)

> Enduro ('VGS' with green/red)

> Flash Gordon

> H.E.R.O.

> Kangaaroo

> Krull

>> Megaforce ('VGS' with green/red)

> Miss. Pac Man

> Moon Patrol ('VGS' silver with blue/yellow)

> Phoenix

> Pole Position ('VGS' orange label)

> Pressure Cooker

> Q. Bert

> River Raid ('VGS' with green/red)-label bad

> Snoopy

> Stampede ('VCS' in front label)

> Subterranea ('VGS' silver with blue/yellow - two labels) (in Portuguese: "Subterrânea")

> Super Tenis

> Trian. Das Bermudas ("Trian." is abbreviation of "Triângulo" or "Triangulo")

> Zaxxon

Sr. Ferraz are those pictures of River Raid you posted showing the opening rivers and are they of River Raid 4? ;)

1021777[/snapback]

Dear friend,

The image of the cartridge of the "Digivision" with the game "Super River Raid" is the game "River Raid III".

Below I placed images of the game "River Raid IV" from cartridge with name "JVP" (4 in 1).

The "JVP" manufactured cartridges with some games for the Atari and with different labels, later I will place here more information about the "JVP".

Other manufacturers have the game "River Raid IV".

In the initial screen it appears in image "Bermuda".

I am looking (searching) for the information that you asked about some games.

Below I placed some propagandas (announcements, ADS)

of magazines of 80's about items from Atari.

The text is in Portuguese therefore is from Brazil.

Some announcements have the list with name of games manufactured for the company.

I don't know if all the games had been manufactured.

"saves" the photos in the computer and later it "opens" for better quality.

In 1985 a store that worked with photograph and video products ("Limafoto") also sale and rented cartridges of Atari.

It had a Club of Video Game called "Atari Age". :D

The announcement has some texts in English as: "From The Atari Club To You..!" and "A Special Invitation".

The archives are great for better visualization.

I wait that they appreciate.
