Sr. Ferraz,

Thanks again for all the new information.

I'm very grateful for the Dismac and Splice Vision titles.

Because I can't read the language, is it perhaps possible for you to figure out (or roughly translate) the descriptions in your Video Game Guide of these games:

Aventura

Bombardeio

Duende

Furia Espacial

Panico Cosmico

Papa Tuda

Ratoeira

Spitfire

Tiro Ao Alvo

Zipper

I would very much like to know their true identity.

If I know what the game is about I can easily tell what game it is.

Dear friend,

I go to speak today with a friend who knows some games of Atari. If not to discover I go to translate the texts for you, ok?

That would be great, Sr. Ferraz.

Your review book is one of the few sources to find out the true identity of these Splice Vision games, so I would be very grateful for the effort.

Thanks for the new pictures!

It's great to see cartridges of (for me) unknown manufacturers, like BAC and Special Game.

I've added them all to the database.

BTW: your scans will be used in the near future, so don't worry about that.

;) Sr.Ferraz you are most correct, thank you for pointing that out to me. This confirms then that Turbo is not Enduro as I was first led to believe. I now firmly believe that it is Traffic by Home Vision unless anyone else can prove me wrong

If you take a good look at the Turbo picture, you can see that it's hand drawn and not as good looking as the pictures in the Dynacom catalog.

The same goes for Dolphin, Haunted House, Jedi Arena, Sssnake and Warplock.

These six pictures are also the ones that are not in the Dynacom catalog.

It could be that these are WIP labels or maybe even non-existing Dynacom titles.

Turbo from Dynacom might as well be the announced Turbo from Colecovision (although I don't think that's the case).

What I'm trying to say is that these six illustrated Dynacom titles are doubtful to say the least.

Turbo by Dynacom does exist as does the one released by Momo as I once saw a pic of it. As to the illustrations like you I had my doubts but until someone comes forward and confirms that they dont exist then we have to take them as possibles. I truly doubt that Turbo resembles anything that CBS or Atari were working on although it sounds by the reports that the game was almost finished otherwise why else would Atari have been planning to release it under their red label? I had always thought that the pirated Turbo's had been Enduro for it was the only game that came close to resembling the arcade game but thanks to Sr.Ferraz's translation it could be possible that Turbo (or one of them) could be Traffic. Yet another mystery to add to all the others ;)

Dear Rom,

Some games I obtained to identify.

> Aventura = Venture

> Duende = Smurfs: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle

> Ratoeira = Mouse Trap

> Spitfire = Spitfire Attack

I go to translate the others: (my English is not good...)

> Bombardeio - In this game you go to pilot a "hunting-bombing" in a planet invaded for the enemies. It has difficulty variations and you will have two options: five or three 'huntings' for each departure (game).

When the game starts, the 'hunting' (hunt) appears in the left of the screen and you already can start to shoot for gain points (in OVNIs, missiles, rockets, bases of launching, tanks, submarines, torpedoes, mines and bombs) and if to take care for not to be reached by the enemy who sends the weapons against you. The radar allows to anticipate the arrival of the OVNIs, that is valid many points if destroyed (they are very dangerous).

> Furia Espacial - Your ship (spaceship) must fight a 'battalion' of enemy ships that attack you. You must shoot in ships (and if to deviate from the attack to be not destroyed) fastest possible, preventing that they join themselves and they transform into a bigger ship.

When you destroy they, you pass (go) to the phase of landing, where you can go down on three different types of "ship-mother (bigger ships), that they give for you more "power of attack" about the enemy. This if always repeats until your five ships are eliminated.

> Panico Cosmico - You guide an astronaut in the fight against the space monsters. In the beginning of the game your first astronaut (you have three) goes for the center of a platform.

You must guide it through some platforms, passing from one for another one using the stairs that 'bind' them. The monsters go to follow your astronaut and you it must help to open holes in the platforms so that the monsters fall and your astronaut covers the holes again.

Some monsters alone die when the fall is from a platform for another one e, thus, you need to make holes in two or three platforms (depending on the color of the monster) in places that if correspond so that, when falling in a hole, the monster falls for the inferior platform (of low) on another hole.

The points are counted for monsters that you it caught and the amount of oxygen that remained.

Later I make the others three.

I'm add another announcement (ads) of the manufacturer "Digivision" (simple).

I also placed an announcement of the manufacturer "Conector". I don't know to inform if this console was really manufactured. The "Connector" manufactured some cartridges for Atari.

"Dynacom" manufactured a compact console with name "MegaBoy". (see ads)

It transmits the image for TV through wire or without wire (wireless, using antenna ). It works with battery or power adapter.

It came with a cartridge of 16 games (mathematical, English, "Supergames" and music). Another similar cartridge exists that has a key to select (educative program or 'Supergames'). It also has two models of cartridges with some games (16 and 32). These two carts have the name "MegaCart".

The photo of the console with the cartridge "Enduro" from the Polyvox and three cartridges of the Dynacom are courtesy of my friend Leandro Camara - AtariBrazil (hsw3et@yahoo.com.br).

The company "Polyvox" was the official representative of the Atari and Activision in Brazil.

The manufacture of console "VCS 2600" from Polyvox had beginning in August, 1983.

The first devices were similar to the American console. ("Darth Vader"). The Polyvox later had models with some alterations. Already manufacturers of cartridges at that time existed.

In the Christmas of 1983 a sale of consoles and cartridges was very great.

I bought my first Atari (new) in March 07, 1984 (see document) .

The console came with the cartridge "Missile Command" ('Comando de Misseis'), the cart. came in a small white box.

I placed another small white box of the game "Video-Pinball" that came with other consoles some later time.

The manual is simple, the "Catalogue of games" informed about games and future launchings (new games). It also has a paper with information about the original cartridges from Polyvox.

I didn't place the manual of the game in the photo, later I will place together with other manuals of games from Polyvox.

A promotion of the Polyvox existed ('Gradiente') to become 'partner' of the "Atari Club", you it sent a letter and received the card and a shirt. This image is courtesy of my friend Leandro (Atari Club).

Amazing Pictures, Sr. Ferraz!

You still have your first Atari as new. That's amazing!

I wish I had my first Atari as that.

When I saw your pics I could remember exactly when my dad bring us (me, my brothers and sister) an Atari for Christmas.

Oh God you bought your System in a Mesbla Store... this store was closed years & years ago...you have a piece of history in your hands! Very nice! :)

Those Conectivision labels are fantastic. It seems like small cases were popular for storing carts. I got some paper ones for Atari Mania games, and one black one that just says Auto game.

I also got a bunch of these plastic cases. I'm thinking there from a video store that rented games. Sr. Ferraz can you shed some light on these?

Dear friend Omegamatrix,

Thank you for the contribution with these scans.

I appreciate the cartridges "Atari Mania". They were made here in Rio De Janeiro.

Some manufacturers used these small plastic boxes (case). Others also had beyond this another great box (of paper). An example is the manufacturers "Mystique" and "Play Around".

Some store of sale and rent from cartridges changed frontal label and placed another "name" in the cartridge. The Gramophone store was famous for sale vinyl records and others. (did not manufacture cartridges)

"JVP" and "VGS" are manufacturers of cartridges therefore in the screen from TV appear the name of them.

Some companies manufactured cartridges with different names and labels.

I placed below images of the cartridge "Auto Game" that you have the box.(plastic case)

* The cartridge "Auto Game" has one different and colored label.

The selector of game is through a key in the lateral.

Games:

* 2 in 1:

> Tron / Space Raid

> Defender / Command Raid

> Enduro / Pacman

> Hero / Snoopy

> Trick Shot / Checker

> Sea Hawk / Enduro

> Chuck N / Hero

> Smurf / Donald

>> Pacman / River Raid III

* Another interesting label is of the cartridge "Top Game".

The selector of the game is behind (key).

Game:

> Command Raid / Space Invaders (2 in 1)

* The cartridge "Video Game" (Vídeo Game) has one simple label. It's without the end label. (one of the photo)

Game:

>> Comand Raid

>> Cosmik Ark

> Hero

Dear Rom,

More translations:

> Papa Tudo: You go to guide one "ladybird" (cochineal) for a labyrinth in this game. "ladybird" goes following for the labyrinth and needs to prevent the "skulls" and insects that can destroy it, using the variations in the ways of the labyrinth and the doors type "butterfly", that it only knows to use.

Moreover, to gain points you need to help "ladybird" to eat the marks, hearts (for hearts of different colors, different points), vegetables (the number of points is variable) and to spell words (the letters of the word are of different colors and are valid points of different numbers).

If it to eat a blue heart, its counting of points in the end will be multiplied by the number of the level where you are playing and each time that the edge of the labyrinth change (alteration) the color, a new insect leaves to the pursuit (search) "ladybird".

The spelled words can be: EXTRA and SPECIAL and for each one of them you obtain points and extra "ladybirds" and pass to a new stage of the game.

> Tiro ao Alvo: You are in a 'gallery of shot' in this game. When the game starts appears the targets that you go to try to make right. They are ducks that, if to pass to the inferior line, can fly and eat your bullets (ammunition).

Also have one "pipe" (tobacco-pipe) that, if you to make right two of the same color in followed, they will be valid more points and they need to be made right with priority, therefore while they are in the 'wheel', more ducks will appear.

Your objective is to finish (to reach, destroy) all the targets without that they finish your bullets (you can obtain more bullets shooting in determined target).

You can obtain more points making right some letters orderly, or 'following' the information of the manufacturer. In the end, appears a bear that, if reached, gives for you extra points and if you do not to obtain to make right it, it leaves the screen and a new 'gallery of shot' appears.

> Zipper: Guides your 'angel' for the track (way) that appears in the game and you will go to find sections (sectors) that when reached will give points for you. Of a section for another one you will close ways that can surround a room. (will gain more points)

The more rooms you to obtain to close, more points you will make. In these rooms, you can find prizes, tridents and a green box. The prizes will give points to you, trident transform your angel into devil during a period and with this, you can follow the monsters and catch they, preventing that they catch you. The green box transforms your angel into devil and makes the green monster to leave the labyrinth some instants.

### The company "Splice Vision" also manufactured cartridges for ColecoVision, can be that some of these games are not of Atari.

*** Some manufacturers used different names for the games.

Example:

> Megamania = Alienigenas (Dismac)

> Amidar = Enigma (Dismac)

> Sky Jinks = Ases do Ar (Dismac)

> Asteroids = Asteroides (Dynacom)

> Demon Attack = Atak (Dismac)

> Atlantis = Atlandida (Dismac)

> Carnival = Domingo no Parque (Dismac)

> Video Checkers = Checkers (Dynacom)

> Chopper Command = Comando Suicida (Dismac)

> Commando Raid = Comando Raid (Dynacom, Robby) = Para Tropa (Dismac)

> Spacechase = Space Chase (Dynacom, Robby) = Cruzadores Espaciais (Dismac)

> Fishing Derby = Desafio de Pescadores (Dismac)

> Donkey Kong = Monkey (Dismac) = Monkey Dong (Splice Vision)

> Donkey Kong Jr. = Dong Jr. (Splice Vision)

> Space Cavern = Espectro (Dismac)

> Skiing = Esquiador (Dismac)

> Video Pinball = Pinball (Dynacom, Robby) = Fliperama (Dismac)

> Grand Prix = Mil Milhas (Dismac)

> Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back = Star Wars (Dynacom, Robby) = Guerra na Galaxia (Dismac)

> Hangman = Hang Man (Dynacom, Genus) = Jogo da Forca (Robby)

> Kaboom = TNT (Dismac)

> Keystone Kapers = Pega Ladrao (Dismac)

> Seaquest = Missao Submarina (Dismac)

> Mouse Trap = Pacri Monster (Dismac)

...Some manufacturers use different names or with small differences (or error).

The Dismac manufacturer total changed the name of the games. Did not place none with the name in English, only Portuguese. (a type of translation)

In Brazil we use in the writing the letter "ç" and 'accents' in the orthography (´, `, ~, ^).

In the names I don't place here.

Example:

>> Pega ladrao = Pega ladrão (correct)

Have a nice day ! :)
