Lacan
I was playing Megaman 2 on my NES 1 system *not the toploading kind or clone*, and I was at Woodman's stage and was about to enter his room and then all of a sudden the screen turned black and it made this hissing almost airplane engine like sound. Is this normal? BTW, my NES is refurbished and I never had a problem with it until this one time today. Maybe I should of blown into the cartridge before I put it in the NES. Yep, sounds like a dirty contact and it talked to that particular part of the ROM and it locked. Don't blow it, clean it with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Lacan
Okay I'll try that. Thanks. Also the funny thing was is that after Woodman I would of been at Dr Wily's castle. Glad this wasn't a game like Zelda or Metroid *which I will own Metroid soon hopefully*, or I would go nuts.
Famicoman
It might be that combined with the fact that Mega Man 2 is actually too fast for the console, as in the processor is not suitable enough. If all else fails, I would...well...the picture says it.

I would think your NES wasn't working properly if it didn't crash like that once in awhile. That's just how NES rolls. It isn't concerned with things like "working" or "letting you finish a game", or ""not somehow sucking up more dust than the vacuum cleaner".
