It was an R-Type style shooter however when you played two players it was possible for both players ships to join together to become a more powerful craft. Can anyone help? Well its not a side-scroller but still I always enjoyed it! I'll have to give Sidearms a try... I always liked games where you could join up and kick ass!!!! But then again all I have of that game is the TG-16 version, and I only had one controller with it. So there you go I should try out the arcade version in mame! yeah that's what I'll do...
