Xebec's Demise
I just searched for this info - 128k games, and I got Andreas Koch's FAQ over at Atarimania: b) "Games" that support more than 64k RAM: Adalmar (Falk Buettner, 64k Ramdisk, block E), Alternate Reality: The City Alternate Reality: The Dungeon (Philipp Price, 64k XRAM, block E), Bop N’Wrestle (Mindscape, 64k XRAM, block E), The Brundles (KE-Soft, up to 256k XRAM, E/AE/26AE), Human Torch & the Thing (Questprobe, 64k XRAM, block E), Megablast 1 (Thorsten Karwoth, 64k XRAM, block E), Mental Age (???, 64k XRAM, block E), [The Amazing] Spiderman (Questprobe, 64k XRAM, block E); Are these the only confirmed games, only commercial games, or is the above list outdated? Xebec's Demise
So what is the above list? Commercially released games?
Wrathchild
Airball (Cart version) requires 128k or more No, the disk version dumped from the cart requires 128K, but the Cart itself does run on a stock 64K machine.
+CharlieChaplin
Well, as always my lists of programs that a) support or b) require extra RAM are incomplete and outdated. I tried not to make an absolutely complete list, just wanted to list some programs that I know or that I have been told to support/require XRAM. The list mentioned here on atariage is part of the A8FAQ I wrote a long time ago. I have not updated it for many years... and err, the list mentioned above contains only programs that *support* XRAM (and not programs that *require* XRAM)... Anyway, feel free to update my A8FAQ list, since I am no longer motivated to do so... and last not least, whoever added A.R. the City to this list - the original AR City version I had (Datasoft) supported only 48k and 64k but not 128k (only the Dungeon supported also 128k RAM)... greetings, Andreas Koch. P.S.: The list contains original commercial *and* PD/Freeware/Shareware programs (like Megablast and Mental Age) - but no hacked/cracked/pirated programs (like cracked + patched XE and XE+ file versions of Goonies, Karateka, WKC, Tower Toppler, Commando, Crossbow, etc.) Edited October 2, 2007 by CharlieChaplin
Artlover
- Megablast That alone is reason enough to have a 130XE or expanded 800xl/1200xl.
