+Random Terrain Posted July 31, 2006 Share Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) I'm not in love with the idea of remaking every existing game, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make Defender using the version of bB that is coming out later this year. I wondered this because people are trying to make a new Defender by Hacking Stargate/Defender 2: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91016 If you could start from scratch with bB, you could try to copy more things from the arcade version such as having a huge explosion when your ship gets destroyed (that starts out as a small fireworks-like circle of white dots that spreads out and turns yellow, then red near the end before it fades away. I wouldn't be able to do it since it requires math that is over my head just to make the explosion, but do you think it's possible though? I also wonder if a good programmer could simulate the cool effect of how your shots trail off to dots behind them like a comet. And do you think the enemies could somehow have larger explosions when they die?
