I have been waiting for this title for almost a year and it comes out in a matter of days. I been watching the trailers and noticed one stating that a demo will be available in the Live Martketplace. Even though I preordered the game with included t-shirt, will the demo be out before the game is released? I been checking back daily and noticed Saints Row demo is available which I am currently downloading. Is there a list somewhere that gives release dates for Marketplace items? And is anyone else excited about this game?

ive been looking forward to this as well as saints row (which impressed me btw) ,but i need to play a demo of dead rising before i consider putting 60 down on considering i cant see how much you can do just being in the mall ,and your only enemies are zombies. although i always wanted to play a game like shaun of the dead which i believe ign said it was similar to so we'll have to see.

From what I seen, you don't only fight zombies. There are crazy people in the mall as well. I think it shows that in the third Webisode. One is a gun store owner and it shows him shooting a guy thats not a zombie trying to calm him down, the other three is a clown weilding duel chainsaws,a grocery store owner and I think he is the one with all the knives and blades attached to the shopping cart, and a guy with a big machete/sword who hung all the zombies from the ceilling. I think its cool that the more people you save, the more you find out. And the more photos you take, the more likely you will win the Pulitzer Prize. The only bad thing I can think up is that there is no multiplayer from what I saw on Wikipedia. I been enjoying Saints Row too, but how come there is no blood?! I love the rag doll effects though and people using walkers and holding newspapers and such. I thought it was interesting that you can buy booze and drugs.

I have Dead Rising on pre-order. There are some nice video's of game play posted on IGN. There is one that shows you how to earn massive points used to level up taking on and killing members of a cult that wears red robes and Green Goblin masks. They said you get like 50-100 points (or somthing like that) for taking pictures but like 500 points for killing cult members.

Edit: Here's some news you might be interested in xenomorpher

We hopefully will be trying this out in the next couple of days!

Zombie Bowling. The T-Shirt is cool, I actually ordered it from EB games for a few more $ than Amazon to get the shirt.

Too bad I won't have time to actually play it until Thanksgiving. If I quit my job will one of you rich people out there adopt me?

Eric

I'm not as into the zombie genre as you guys, maybe it's a generational thing, but I want the space shooter to come back into vogue (holds breath).

If you want updates on demos, etc i suggest subscribing to Major Nelson's blog. He posts new stuff as soon as it happens.

I'm looking forward to the Dead Rising demo to see what all the fuss is about. It seems as though I can drop out of the internet and magazine scene for game news and live on Live if I want, very cool

I died twice... Early on too... Should you try to kill all of the zombies coming at you, or run to a better place? I've been running, and it isn't working too well.

Go to the second floor. Theres a place there with sporting goods, I'd pick up a golf club to wack a few balls at zombies, the store around there the restaurant, called Roadhouse or something, has food which will replenish almost all your health. I had to run around with one bar, but luckily I made it. And don't be shy about using the shotgun. The sickle works well, just be sure to charge it if there is a lot of zombies around. So far I love the demo. It took awhile to get used to the controls and the hundreds of zombies. I'm very glad I pre-ordered. Can't wait till I have the full version!

Haven't really had a big problem dying. Mostly happens when I'm playing around with something and not paying attention ;)

I love all the stuff I've found for weapons. Coat hanger attack anyone? :rolling: Or finally finding a use for all those crappy CDs in a music store. hahaha

The atmosphere is great, the graphics are really good, and the sheer amount of zombies on screen is phenomenal. Can't wait for the full version!

I discovered something hilarious. Unequip an item by pressing up on the d-pad so now you just have your hands. Pull the right trigger and press X. You will now spit at anything you aim at. I haven't found out how you grab a zombie and spin around.

Wow what a great game!

I couldn't really figure out how to use the weapons in a way to take better/funny pictures.

Like based on the previews I've seen you should be able to say put a orange parking cone on top of a zombie and then take a picture as he staggers around. All I could really do was give them a beat down. I love it when you throw the cash resgister at them. *cha ching*

Just find something suitable, pick it up, get near a zombie and attack. Go to a clothes store and jam a clothes hanger in their mouths (bonus is they can't bite! haha) - or go to the toy store and grab some of those costume heads and jam them on a zombie, they stagger around and bump into stuff because they can't see where they are going. Great stuff :rolling:

Got an 'outtake' picture with six zombies with those giant foam heads on. Lots of points for that one. And I found out that spitting attack on accident when my weapon broke in the middle of a big fight. Oops :D

Here are some tips a dude on another site gave:

put orange juice and a pie in the blender, then drink it. Resttores health and gives you temporary invincibility

Also, in the cafe on the top floor, jump out of the window and grab the katana on the balcony

On the left at the start go into 'contemporary reading' and pick up the magasine on the floor, as long as you carry it icons appear over zombie heads for photos - red = brutality, green = comedy (stick a mask over somethings head), blue= horror and pink = erotica

The books are real useful, makes items last longer.

Dont forget to put frying pans on ovens either

That red hot frying pan is a good one.

And that shopping cart is a hell of a weapon!

Yeah, the shopping cart is great to use if you want to plow thru those huge crowds on the lower level. The hot frying pan is pretty funny as well as the coat hanger. I found the electric guitar suprisingly useful.

Had to DL three times (first two times, it would get as far as the controls loading screen, and just sit), but it was worth it. A good 15 minutes of fun just running around killing things.

The only thing I didn't like (but it is a demo, which is okay) was when you run into another mission (side-mission?) area you get the movie clip, and then the demo ends. I wish they would have just have given a message about the full version and throw you back into the demo. But whatever.

Can't wait for the full version.

Found this map on a few different sites

Gives the whole mall map, and then the area in which the demo takes place. I guess, the map itself was given out at Gamestop when you did a preorder, but I didn't get one.

thanks for the map it gives me a little bit of a better understanding of where i can safely go without triggering the end of the demo. what annoys me about the demo is you basicly have no point to what you are suppose to do ,and it gives me a bad vibe about the full game if its going to be as pointless ,but i guess at least with the full game you can actually go off ,and do things more than just pointlessly killing zombies.
