+remowilliams
I decided to restart the game, luckily you start with your old stats. So I am at level 9, and I am going keep trying to level up and continue where I left off. Its just gotten too hard for me. How long were you playing before hitting level nine? I got to level nine without ever really getting that far into the storylines, and making it to the middle of the night on day one I think. Are you rescuing the trapped people? You get huge bonuses for them I'm not sure overall how my initial style of approach to the game will 'play' out in regards to all the stories and things to do and time left - but I'll be playing through it more than once I think. bruser_inc
Anyone just going out into the Park and getting the car and just running over zombies?? Great fun. I started out with 500 kills and then I went into the parking garage and got 2,000 in about a minute. Then my car wouldn't work so I had to blast my way with a can of beans I think, a submachine gun, and a knife. Luckily I found a truck, but I got lost. Eventually I made it out alive with one block of health, but I didn't save because the case would end in about 14 minutes. Does anyone know how to make it so that there aren't huge groups of those yellow raincoated cultists scattered around? Yeah, that was how it went for me too, found my way into the underground (also found the main. key) would run down about a 1,000 of them go save and then do it all again. Still haven't hit 10,000 yet. With the yellow raincoat guys, throw something at one of them and he will come at you (sometimes two or three of the will, better than 10 or more though) Get enough distance between you and the big group and you should be okay. Also, with the yellow raincoat guys, don't they count for ANY of the psychopath Achievements? That is starting to piss me off. I got up to level nine on the 3rd case I think. I didn't rescue many people, I just wanted to concentrate on the story. This time around I'm going to try to rescue more people and take more pictures since they give you a lot of points for that. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't EVERYWHERE. Before I restarted I would go upstairs towards the sporting goods store, and there would be a group of them there blocking it off. Then I went to the hunting store and the same story, and they followed me and waited outside of the store too. They are more annoying than the respawning convicts in the hummer. eric_ruck
In case anyone is interested the VGA cable worked great for me. Playing on a 19" Gateway HD LCD monitor at highest resolution (13?? x 7??). Much better. Another annoying downside was that the monitor doesn't have its own speakers, and the RCA connectors on the VGA cable get you maybe 6 inches to your line in, so I had to do some creative rearranging to make it work (Radio Shack isn't open at 1am for component audio extension cables). So, my observations/questions after messing around for a few hours and largely ignoring the missions: 1) How do you defeat Carlos and help Brad? I must have hit him at least a dozen times before I ran out of bullets. Then I figured out if I leave the area and come right back I magically have more bullets (nice). So I hit Carlos maybe a dozen more times. Got bored after awhile and left him and Brad to shoot it out. 2) Any ideas on defeating the crazy clown? Discovering that he breathes fire knocked off my last health block in our last encounter. 3) Any idea what all that stuff in movie theater #4 is all about? 4) What are people's favorite weapons so far? I'm partial to the chairs from the jewelry store, the gumball machine in the movie theater, and the Mega Buster in the movie theater (where you can also score a cool Buzz Lightyear style helmet). If you get stuck, you could always replay from the begining with your old stats so you can level up easier. This game is very hard, I thought it would be funner have a lot more freedom. The strategy guide helps a litte, it has a map with all the store names. The woman at my local EB, without me even asking, was kind enough to give me a pamplet that was a map of the mall that way I could write on it and such. And I heard Capcom is making a patch that will fix the small text problems, and I wonder if they will make more downloadable content like a true free roam mode. Anyone else downloaded the outfit keys at the Marketplace? moycon
I hadn't downloaded the new character outfits yet, Probably will today. Leveling up is definately the way to go. I'm at level 19 and haven't yet started on the #2 cases yet. In the mean time I'm just trying to get achievements. If I die I just pick save with current stats and quit and start over. EDIT: Heh I went ahead and went for the Zombie Genocide achievement by staying in the tunnels and running over zombies for hours...now I'm like lvl 37!! I think 50 is the highest you can go. Now, can you explain to me how you unlock the weapon (other than getting the Genocide)? I have seen 1 or 2 different ways in getting it. Don't know which one is right. Do you HAVE to go to the heli-pad or just the toy store? Don't know which one is right. Do you HAVE to go to the heli-pad or just the toy store? *spoilers* Basically I just ignored all the cases and headed to the tunnels with the Horror Book that adds PP for killed zombies. I drove around running over zombies for a few hours. After I got the Genocide (and a few other achievements as well) I had a good while until noon, so I went and made a few untouchable drinks headed back to the tunnels, walked right into the swarm of zombies and started doing Double Lariets untill I got Karate Champ. Then I just went up to the heliport and waited for the end of the game. I got the B ending and unlocked an outfit and the weapon. Now when I start the game, the weapon is in the air duct room where Otis is. Just open the door and look over to the left. It's sitting in the corner. If you run out of ammo, drop it and go back to the air duct room, the weapon spawns from what I've been told...but only if you don't have one in you inventory. Maybe he got the worst ending because...he played worse than he should have?? LOL I finally made it to lvl 50. Maxed out!!! I have saved about 12 people just petering around. I still have like 22 hours til the copter comes. I think I might go for 8 more survivors, wait for copter and get the save 10 and save 20 achievement. After that, I plan on starting anew and playing through for real. I took down many a psychopath with the weapon you get from the Genocide. You can kill psycho's in like 1 to 4 hits!! I finally ran into the mad preacher and that scene where the raincoat guys first appear. It was a bad day for them, because I had just walked in from outside after killing those stupid convicts for the first time - so I had the big 'ole cannon in hand. And just finished Overtime Mode...wow...I liked the A Ending better. Does anyone know for the 1,000 bullets achievement, has to be done by hitting 1,000 zombies or just firing 1,000 bullets? I thought in one game I was over the 1,000 mark, but maybe not. Yeah, it's really different. I love how they set up the game and the endings. It' so cool when you get the A ending and then.... Though there are some things that could be improved, I've got to say that DR is a great game I've unlocked just about everything, so if anyone needs a hint just ask. For the Bullet Point achievement, I believe all you need to do is fire 1000 bullets. Which isn't real hard once you've got the Real MMB, or in the overtime mode. moycon
When you guys say you got the A ending does that mean you have completed the Overtime mode? The reason I ask is because you can't get the A ending until you do, and I just started Overtime and am a little lost right now, although admittedly I've only watched the cut-scene in the hideout. Gonna try and hit it hard and heavy tommorrow. I may need some tips. *achievement spoilers* Regarding the Bullet Point , I think it's just shots fired and I'm pretty sure the MegaMan gun counts. I hadn't hardly fired any guns (except the MMG) when I decided to go for the achievement. I just went to the sub-machine gun on the blue awning in Paradise Plaza. My plan was to snag it, fire all 100 bullets and then go back in the wareHouse door, then back into Paradise Plaza and get the SMG again (It spawns) I was going to repeat until I got it...I figured probably 10 times, but the 3rd time I did it about 24 shots in I got it. So I think MMG counts. Also the Perfect Gunner achievement is no problemo. Wait until the Spec-Ops show up midnight the last day. Kill em and snag a couple Machine Guns (sub-machine gun will not work) head to the Butcher Shop AKA Meat Processing area below Seon's Grocery store, you can get to it taking the maintenance tunnels, go to the top left dead-end. Enter the shop, and clear it out as best you can. Just kill all the zombies with whatever weapons you have except the machine guns. There are knives laying around the shop so pick them up if your weapons get low. Once you have cleared out the area pretty good. aim the machine gun (right trigger)at one of the sides of beef hanging from the ceiling and fire all 150 bullets into it. There ya go Perfect Gunner!!! When you leave the shop hop in the truck and make your escape. moycon
I haven't started yet. Those acheivements really kinda suck, you cannot save in infinity mode and you have to survive 5 and 7 days. That translates to 10 and 14 hours real time. I do know that in order to make it you will have to snag all 3 of the books that give you a health bonus when eating food. 1. In the Entrance Plaza, head to the top floor and into the store "Sinister Read". Theres a book there entitled Heal +1 2. In the Wonderland Plaza, head to the top floor and into the store "Sir Book Alot". Theres another book called Heal +1 3. In the North part of the mall, to the left of the home hardware store, theres a room with another Heal +1 book Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/91461-dead-rising-for-the-xbox-360/page/3/#findComment-1128251 Share on other sites
