Madden 07 XBox 360 Freezes

Does anybody else have this problem? I am really PO'd right now because this game has caused my XBOX 360 to freeze 3 times today already. I know it isn't the system itself because I have been playing my other games today and they are working fine.

 

The college football game has freezed once since I've owned it, and that has been a little over a month.

 

What do you guys think? XBOX 360 problem, or EA making crappy software?

 

I'm gonna call Gamestop and see if they'll let me return it in exchange for a Madden 07 for the regular XBOX.

As much as I tend to bash Gamestop, they really do trank high on my list sometimes. I was able to exchange my Madden for Madden for the original XBOX, no questions asked. It's nice to know there are gamers who work at these stores who actually care about gamers.

 

According to the clerk at Gamestop, I am not the only one who returned this game for this reason. Buyers beware! Purchase Madden 07 for the 360, prepare for glitches to come.

Yeah I've been hearing a lot of this lately that really sucks for 360 owners.

I've come to the conclusion that EA sucks. The XBOX Madden looks better and plays better than the 360 version. If you think about this, it doesn't make any sense!

 

If someone is going to pay an extra 10 bucks for your game, as a developer you should give them something worth the money. It seems that perhaps EA just doesn't care and wants to steal people's money.

 

I have al lthe 2K sports titles for the fall reserved. I know I won't lose money on this because last year the 2K sports games for the 360 were exactly the same game. I bought the basketball game and it was EXACTLY the same as the XBOX version in depth and game options. Even the menu screens looked the same. The difference was that the graphics were improved, but not to the point where it caused the game to skip frames and glitch out.

 

I am foaming at the mouth for NBA 2K7, however NBA Live 2007 looks like complete crap. I'm staying away from EA sports until they can get their act together. From what I remember EA's exclusive rights to the NFL contract espires in 5 years. Since it started in 2006, only three years to wait!

 

2K (Sega, or is it Take 2 Interactive? Maybe it changed from one to the other) did a wise thing by selling their games for $20 bucks new in 2005. This convinced me to buy them as well as the EA counterparts. I have decided from that one year that 2K is the way to go!

This may be true, but how long will people have to wait? Look how long it's taken Microsoft to update their backwards compatibility list.

And therein lies the problem. Had they just taken the xbox version and upped the graphics, everyone would be bitching that it's the same game as current-gen with slightly better graphics. Not that there's an excuse for the game locking up (among other bugs), but at least they're "trying" to make a next-gen game. I guess time will tell which course was best.

 

FWIW, I picked up Madden for the Xbox and it's pretty tight. I barely played it at all last year, and I think my enjoyment goes up dramatically taking a year off.

I don't see how you anyone could say the Xbox version looks better than the 360 version. I've played them both and I like the 360 version better in most aspects. It's missing some few things, but at least I didn't have the lock ups thankfully and I don't have to hear Madden saying the exact same things from last years game like in the Xbox version.

Me personally my 360 would freeze up every time I played PDZ. I didnt have issues with any other game really. No matter what, PDZ would freeze. I couldn't get past certain parts of the game. Usually it was when a bunch was happening on the screen, like I'd blow up a gas tank next to some boxes, or trigger an alarm and all the enemies would rush me. Even tho at that time I had like 7 games and PDZ was the only one that was unplayable, rather than return the game, I returned the system, my thought was if I'm going to spend this much on a system, It going to work. The had me another console in about a week and a half. Since that time I haven't really had any issues to speak of.
