PacManPlus
Hmm... Just picked up a 'Golden Tee Golf' plug and play from Radica, which seems like it uses a real track-ball... That gives me an idea... Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/ Share on other sites
Flojomojo
A proper Atari retro pack, with Missile Command, Centipede, Millipede, XO Football, Crystal Castles, Marble Madness ... While we're at it: Reactor, Track and Field, Simpsons Bowling ... There were fewer trackball games than I remembered. shadow460
Reactor is missing from the list at Wikipedia. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/#findComment-1175117 Share on other sites

Student Driver
Not anymore. Neither is Track & Field. Every Track & Field I ever saw used an all-button set-up. Was the trackball version a proto or something? 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/#findComment-1176983 Share on other sites

Was the trackball version a proto or something? Later versions used a trackball instead -- probably to cut down on damage to the cabinet and buttons. Personally, I was always a little rough on those all-button machines. http://klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=T&game_id=10180 has one line about it. While I'm posting, let me reiterate the need for a Reactor remake! Personally, I was always a little rough on those all-button machines. http://klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=T&game_id=10180 has one line about it.They were probably also trying to cut down on cheaters who used electric toothbrushes on the run buttons to make the players run really really fast. EDIT: Speaking of Golden Tee Golf, I've got one of my own and I'm still hoping to rebuild it into a two-button 7800 trackball. I just need to find the time to work on it. JamesD
Every Track & Field I ever saw used an all-button set-up. Was the trackball version a proto or something? That's all I ever saw and it was brutal. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/#findComment-2802757 Share on other sites

+wongojack
I'm wondering if the cheap one could be used to do the same thing. I'd bet $13.61 that it could. I watch for these on Ebay and that model comes up every so often. I'll probably buy one eventually and tinker with it. That is a good price for it btw. If you want to make your own "hackball," You won't be able to use my info as a guide, but it should be pretty easy to figure out. It's quite a jump over Radica's from ~5 years earlier. FYI, back when it (the Jakks model, 2011) was on clearance at retail stores, it could have been had for less than $10, including tax. onmode-ky Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/#findComment-2803078 Share on other sites
Hyperboy
My local Walmart and Kmart have these for $10, I picked a couple up about a year ago and as of a week or so ago both still had some in stock. \m/ Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/93125-radica-does-it-again/#findComment-2815549 Share on other sites
