And after playing Kid Icarus a bit, I'm going to leave it on, though it is a bit of a pain to know your score, because:

 

-You can get your score at any point by pausing the game. So you just have to remember to look at that every once in a while, and especially if you are close to death.

-You can get the "Total" after you die, which is the number of points earned up to the continue point.
