Cybergoth
So I tweaked the original BCD one a little, mostly took out all the very dark colors. Here are the ten binaries. Er, actually there are nine. The tenth level has the same colors as the game shows upon startup. Those look all very good Excellent contrast everywhere, my favourite being the "ice" scheme of level 4 that looks like coming straight from SW-ESB As for doubled colors, the two remaining spots where this happens significantly on my TV are the greens in levels 1 and 8. Not hurting the gameplay at all though. And I thought to mention, that the boot scheme and the level 5 colors are almost identical, just in a different order it seems. Anyway, as I said, looking very good! Ordered!
Thomas Jentzsch
I wrote a simple test program, which might help deciding the right colors. Some combinations look very nice (on emulator!). coltest.zip
vdub_bobby
I don't totally follow the code, but it looks like when you're in NoSpritesSubKernelSubroutine you have cycles to burn, and you go there once per floor. Yeah, but I don't go there on the scanline that the floor starts on. Thanks for the suggestions, and thanks, Thomas, for the binary But since I have Manuel's Seal of Approval I think I will call this done. Final PAL60 version attached.
