MCHufnagel
My local craigslist has plenty of PS3 listings. The prices are everywhere from $800 for a 20 gig version to $2000 for a 60 gig version with a couple of games and an extra controller. The typical listing is $1500 for a 60 gig version. Lower prices than ebay, but since they are asking for cash only, a much more secure sale.

EricDeLee
I got it last night. When will people learn to wear rubbers for crying out loud! I just hope for your sake it doesn't fall right the hell off. lol
Gabriel
I scored two 20 gb`s at EB games... now I really need to get some sleep. Wow. Congrats. Incidentally, did you choose to get the 20G model, or was that all that was left by the time your turn came? (Definitely not passing a value judgement. I bought an XBox Core of my own free will.) +HatNJ
Those people are too busy typing up their ebay listings Yeah 5000+ listings on ebay so far most will end at over 3 grand 1 did at $20,000 (Heard on a news report on radio) I would feel bad for people buying at those prices but if your buying it at over 3 thousand bucks then you got the money to burn no pity here

That`s all they had, all of the 60 gb`s were preordered. And even then, I was lucky because EB games were not supposed to have anything except preorders. It's a Playstation; it can't survive turning on, it won't survive a fall to the floor. [You should push it. eric_ruck
This will make everyone crazy. I'm at work now. 60G PS3 in my trunk. And get this, I plan on keeping it, but I don't plan on opening it until Thanksgiving (something of a tradition around here). I thought about ripping it open tonight when I get home, but eh, gotta respect tradition. Wait until the kids go to bed, play something child-unfriendly until dawn with whoever wants to hang after dinner. FYI two controllers and Resistance. Decided to pass on Gundam and wait for Full Auto. Eric
Atarifever
Got mine. 60 GB. Can't talk now. Putting it on Ebay. Cripes. Has anyone actually played the fracking thing? Riiiiggghtt. Why would they do that again? If they want to play games they'd just buy a 360 and have the money left over to buy some. In fact, at this point the PS3s people have are largely to be sold to buy Wiis and 360s. Next week when the rabid Sony fanboys have their ebay shipments, then people will play it. They will be so broke they will be playing movies on it and their PS2 games, but they will play it.

I was at Gamefaqs and people in the PS3 forums were asking the same thing! I also answered nobody will know until next week after their ebay shipments have arrived. It's great for ebay re-sellers that there are so many stupid people out there. If I wasn't so lazy, I probably would have done the same thing. My brother works at a major retailer. He said that his store sold over 25 systems. Only 2 games total sold. I think that answers your question. EricDeLee
Like I said earlier... there are still systems left near me. It is tempting... but I've got a vacation and other stuff coming up.

Just saying, is all. True, this is exactly like that. Except for the price point. And the fact that Blu-Ray is nowhere near as important an upgrade as DVD. And that Sega had released 2 failed systems in a row before the Dreamcast, unlike Microsoft. And that Nintendo has more steam this time than last time. And that both companies the PS3 is competing with have a lot of money, rather than having their opening battle be against a nearly bankrupt and broken Sega. And that one of their biggest titles is being released simultaneously on the 360 this time. etc. Just saying is all. I am assuming you were making some kind of point regarding the eventual success of the PS2. If you are merely pointing out the similarities between both releases for conversation sake, then I agree. There were dumb people then and there are dumb people now. Edited November 17, 2006 by Atarifever
tantone56
Man, you guys are buisness savages. Not one of you has opened the system yet. I remember waiting on a huge line all nnight for the original Xbox, and when I got home the first thing I had to do was play Halo. The thought of putting it on ebay was obsurd to me. Is there anyone here who is going to play to damn thing?
RickHarrisMaine
I actually just played this at Target. None left by the way!!! I played Motorstorm. It was no demo, unless the demo player sucks as bad as I do. Kind of fun and all, but honestly, i was hoping for a bit of a jump over a Dreamcast, let alone a PS2. It was more like a couple of steps. Not like the 2600 to NES jump at all.
Brian R.
All this eBay reselling is nauseating. I feel sorry for those out there who would've legitimately bought one for themselves, to actually play, and weren't able to get one because of some frakin' eBay opportunist. But I also don't feel sorry for the suckers spending thousands on eBay systems. They're insane for doing that, and to blame along with the eBay sellers for this sorry situation. I'm gonna go play 2600 Lady Bug now.
