Yep, it sure is. I've always said that because of the scammers on eBay, no auction listing should be viewable by buyers until an employee of eBay has actually read the listing and hits an approve button. Sure, it might mean eBay hires a few more people but nothing wrong with lowering the unemployment rate. Approving text and content works when you place a classified ad in a newspaper, it works when you place a personal ad on the Internet and it could work easily with eBay. But eBay much more prefers to just rake in the listing & final value fee's than take any sort of responsibility for what transpires on their site. There is one line that is excrutiatingly misleading: THERE IS NOWHERE TO FIND EVEN THE 20GB SYSTEMS THIS CHEAP....BUY THESE INSTEAD! His sentence implies that this is a 20GB or better system, but then contradicts itself by saying "BUY THESE INSTEAD". If you're not paying enough attention, you might think that he's saying this system is a PS3. Especially since the original Playstation didn't have a hard drive, so his implications can be quite confusing. I just think it is criminally misleading. I'm betting no court would ever uphold that contract. Imagine if Best Buy or Walmart ever did the same sort of offer to purchase. I'm betting peoples reactions would be very different. There are consumer protection laws in most areas to help prevent this sort of thing, I guess it would be up to the individual to find out if they applied in his locale. You know, I feel I'm smart enough to steer clear of stuff like this. But, I also know that there ARE people out there, often through no fault of their doing, who would fall for these types of scams. The elderly, who grew up in a society with much different values, lesser educated individuals, those with a lesser grasp of the english language (which could be for many reasons) And the many whom are just generally a few clowns short of a circus. Agreed. Only a total moron would have read that description and believed it was for a PS3. And only an absolute brain dead retard would have 1) Bid $900 without carefully reading the description and being certain of what they were bidding on AND 2) Bid $900 without contacting the seller first, especially with a description like that. A little off tangent, I saw an auction where someone was selling email addresses from Yahoo and Hotmail called "PSthreeSeller" and whatnot. No one bid on them.
